I mentioned in the tariff thread a while ago that I had to pay extra for some books I ordered from a UK publisher because the de minimis exemption on duties, or whatever the term was, had been revoked.

I also think that he's very funny, but it’s nothing to do with whatever undetectable sense of humour he might have.

When you claim that "in 1940, the government decided to work with the Germans to avoid the worst. It worked," you leave out that the Danish contribution to the Nazi war effort may have helped Denmark get relatively unscathed through WW2, but the word relatively already implies that other countries didn't fare as well – often because they actually resisted the Nazis. Many of the Nazi soldiers who invaded those other countries were fed by the "significant food supplies to Germany" provided by Denmark.

So Denmark survived WW2 "without too much damage" by dishonorably helping prolong the war to the detriment of other countries. The Danish government even let Danes fight for Germany against the Soviet Union, one of the Allied countries that defeated the Nazis in the end.

There is so much Denmark and similar countries could do to oppose the fascist takeover of the USA, but instead ...
