Trump's Second Term

Ok, someone finally posted the whole tweet.

That isn't illegal, I agree. The poster is clearly an ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ and essentially asked for other people to threaten them, but didn't do so themselves.

Why is the poster an ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊? The ◊◊◊◊ did they do wrong? What are you bitching about now? You don't like transparency? You're cool with random ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ people getting into the USA's finances? The tweet didn't ask for anyone to threaten anyone. Doxxing and going to visit them is a threat? The party of "◊◊◊◊ your feelings" sure do cry a lot.

Where in project 2025 does it reference banning books or teachings about slavery? The EO doesn't, and after reading through the entire chapter on education in project 2025, I don't see anything that could be interpreted as that either.

It's like whackamole with claims sometimes, and in the end it becomes an interpretation of a sentence that doesn't say what is reported.

Can you link to the part you read? I have nothing going on, I'll read through it and see what it actually says. Perhaps we can come up with some quotes directly from it that supports either side of the conversation. You'll have to accept my apologies if I don't take your word for it. I don't generally trust Trumpers since they actively and vehemently support a man that lies with every ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ breath, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Doxxing libs is okay, but doxxing the names of criminals doing crime... that's totally wrong.

Jeezus, almost 5000 posts on this subject (1700 or so post-Election but pre-Inauguration) and The POSOTUS has only been in office a little over two weeks. I can't even keep up. And I can only mostly read news headlines now because too much is happening. And it's all bad.

25-Year-Old Elon Musk Crony Has Total Control Over Treasury Payments

If the story at the New Republic is true, as a long time I/T professional I find this terrifying. Allowing one single person to modify code on a payment system without any oversight or code review? Just what is the new code doing? Auditing, I hope, but what's to say it isn't shaving one penny off of every payment and sending it to a secret account?

If this was being done by anyone else other than one of Musk's minions, that person would be instantly arrested and charged under the Computer Fraud and Abuse act, for starters. A huge number of additional charges would follow, probably enough to put that person behind bars for twenty years and more.

I note the person in question has resigned because he's been unmasked as a racist who wanted to repeal the Civil Rights Act and had promoted hatred toward people from India.

Said person has been hired back.
The basic racism not even being hidden now.
Suppposedely the Muxk team only has Read Only access.but how hard would ti be to hack through that?

My knowledge of this kind of thing is likely at least a couple of decades out of date but we used to have a handful of "oldtimers" lurking around for some of our critical systems simply because they understood how it worked and more importantly had a knowledge of the bodges and cludges that had been stuck in over the years.

The US government systems are presumably huge and parts will be quite old so I'd expect millions of line of code, large chunks of which are redundant these days (but not removed just in case something else is broken in the process). Unless AI is able to scan, interpret and understand all of it I cannot imagine how anyone could develop anything other than a cursory knowledge of it and to make changes without weeks or months of regression testing gives me the screaming abdabs. Once again maybe this is something that AI takes care of these days and there's no need for testing - or maybe they don't care if they break it.
It's more likely to be old and simple. NOTAMS are very simple documents in terms of coding which is why they are so hard to read. I can guarantee there would have been numerous plans to upgrade and they all got knocked back because it works and we can't waste taxpayers money.

Being cognizant isn't a skillset most that follow Musk and Trump possess.
I meant legally cognizable, but I see your point. Elon Musk is once again making veiled threats of legal action with no basis in law to do so. A credentialed journalist reporting on the public activities of a person in an important and influential government position is exactly how the First Amendment freedom of the press is meant to operate. Suggesting an ulterior motive is not even remotely the same as actual conflict of interest.

Trump on DOGE obtaining Americans' personal information, including social security numbers and bank numbers: "They get it very easily. We don't have very good security in our country."

REPORTER: "But should DOGE—an unelected private entity—have access to that kind of sensitive data?"
TRUMP: "Well, somebody’s gotta have it. Would you rather it be China? You think China doesn’t already have it? Please. At least DOGE is American. Very strong company. Very good people."

REPORTER: "But isn’t this a massive privacy violation?"
TRUMP: "People love privacy, I love privacy. But, you know, it’s funny—whenever I needed something, they told me I couldn’t have it. Now everybody’s worried about privacy? Where was that when I needed my Twitter back?"

REPORTER: "Are you saying DOGE having this data is a good thing?"
TRUMP: "I’m saying we’ll see what happens. But let’s be honest—most people don’t even know what’s in their bank account. DOGE probably knows better than they do! Maybe it helps. Maybe it doesn’t. But it’s very interesting. People are talking about it."

REPORTER: "So to be clear, you’re fine with DOGE collecting Americans' private financial data?"
TRUMP: "Look, if DOGE didn’t do it, somebody else would. That’s the way it works, folks."
Is that….real?

It’s a good parody if that’s what it is. Insane if real.

The direct link to the pdf is here. Or you can go to the project 2025 policy page, and get the same from number 11, Deparment of Education.

Trump on Social Security: "We have people that shouldn't be on, and those people we have to weed out. Most of them, or many of them so far, have been illegal immigrants."

Hey, why not just cut off everyone, then make them prove their citizenship to get back on! The appeals process wouldn't be long, maybe a year or two, people can just dip into their trust funds and portfolios while waiting, right?
