Trump's Second Term

The Dems cheated so he hasn't got the overwhelming majority in the House he wanted to ram his ◊◊◊◊ through.

Trump is heading into Season 2 as President, but just a president in a reality show. Not a fully functioning one. He only thinks about how he looks. Polling may have some influence, but can also be dismissed as "fake."

The irony is that Trump was allowed to present it all as a grand scheme to take us back to the 1950s world. Those male and female roles and values. The manufacture of consumer stuff is in fact never coming back and Trump will never raise the wages of the white working class. Their only power is to support the social issues that he brought to the front of everything. They may even feel good about "owning the liberals."

Having been rather powerless for decades, MAGA folk may not notice much change in the next few years. The rest of us are all yielding our poltical power to wealth. Corporations and billionaires. We have about as much power at that point as people did under communism. The power we had by electing liberal polticians that would allow at least our multicultural nation to exist. And some minimal welfare and regulated health insurance.

Regarding trump's 'partnership' with Elon Musk. What kind of a person is Musk, really? I was astounded to read:
Elon Musk’s war on MAGA has gone nuclear after the billionaire CEO blasted a social media user’s comments about H-1B visas [last] Friday....Musk liked a post that asserted Americans are too “retarded” to fill the country’s tech workforce and supported the idea that top roles should be taken up by “better educated” people from overseas. Yahoo News article link

After being blasted by the other X user-
A mere six minutes later, the Department of Government Efficiency co-head hit back at the commentator: “The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B.” He added, “Take a big step back and **** YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend.”

Americans are too retarded? Ef yourself in the face? This is how an intelligent person conducts themselves?

Never ever have we had this kind of behavior. This nightmare just keeps getting worse! I am truly scared. :eye-poppi

I did this 4 years already. I'm going to monitor news on line and only watch limited tv news shows. Too bad if they lose advertising revenue. I just can't stand to listen to Trump speak anymore.

I'm not referring to watching trump on TV. I'm wondering what is going to happen to our society over the next four years. trump is a destroyer. From the USFL football league, the airline, the casinos, the university. They're all gone. trump destroyed them all.

We were talking about this at work today, a group of New Yorkers who've had a ringside seat -- he was a constant on the local news -- at the trump circus going back to the 1980s I've despised trump since the United States Football League ceased to exist, primarily because the owners let donald trump set their business strategy and call the shots.

Anyway, we were wondering. It's his mo that he wouldn't do too much damage on the first go round. It's the second term that has people worried. What will get destroyed this time? The United States of America? Our democratic system? Or the Republican Party? People were betting the first two are pretty resilient, that even trump can't destroy the USA or our 200 year plus democracy. How about the Republican party? Yeah, some of us thought, maybe the GOP will get destroyed. trump's pal Musk just applauded someone who called American workers "retards." That's not going over too well with the magamutts. Steve Bannon is threatening to rip Musk's face off unless Elon doesn't drop the H-1B talk.

The first time around I watched with some bemusement (and amusement, at times). I'd thought we'd had enough checks in place to keep him from doing anything too bad. This time, I don't think so.

At first, it didn't go over well with the MAGA fundamentalists, but after Trump declared that he was with Musk on this one, guys like Catturd decided that the issue was settled: They're with Trump and Trump is with Musk: Let's focus on our victory at the election. Wasn't it wonderful.
Bannon may not be happy with that, but he is out in the cold, for now.

Very interesting video from CNN:
Trump sides with Musk on H-1B visas amid MAGA backlash (CNN on YouTube, Dec 31, 2024 - 8:06 min.)
Musk and Ramaswamy's stance is being slammed by Trump's MAGA supporters, like his former white House strategist Steve Bannon, who said on his podcast that H1-b takes jobs from American citizens.
Bannon: "The program, from top to bottom, is a scam and a con. There is nothing in this program that should continue to exist. Nothing.
This is coders that are going to work for a third of the salaries and work like indentured servants. That's not American citizens."

Trump's comment that he's always been in favor of the H-1b visas isn't true. He previously opposed those visas and restricted access to them several times during his first administration in an effort to curb illegal immigration.
But in the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump had changed his tune on skilled workers coming to the U.S.
Trump: "What I want to do and what I will do is you graduate from a college.I think you should get automatically, as part of your diploma a green card to be able to stay in this country."
So there appears to be a genuine disagreement between Bannon and Trump at this point. Bannon's racism was useful during the election because it made the racists vote Republican, but now that the Republicans won, that racism isn't useful anymore. There is no more need for stories about pet-eating Haitians.
CNN also quotes from the WSJ:
WSJ: "Trump may be wrong in trying to save TikTok, but he is right to endorse the value of H-1b visas in the dispute between Elon Musk and Steve Bannon.
Mr. Trump is choosing the side of enlightened nationalism as opposed to the blinkered, declinist version ..."
'Enlightened nationalism = Musk, Ramaswamy, Trump and WSJ: Free flow of cheap tech labour from '◊◊◊◊-hole countries'.
'Unenlightened nationalism' = Bannon, Loomer and the working-class Maga base: No labour from third-world countries.
Meghan Hays: "I think he [Musk] has a substantial role in the larger magnet movement. You see that, you saw that with the funding fight, you see that here. He's always normally the first person out. And it's interesting that you say that people are attacking Musk over Trump. They understand that attacking Musk is getting underneath Donald Trump's skin as well. As he put out a statement, he talked about it. And so I do think he has a large part to play here. And I think that we will see how he impacts and sort of some of the policies going forward."
And to Steven's Point is, is it going to be for the working class or is it going to be for the millionaires and billionaires? Because so far it's for the millionaires and billionaires like Elon Musk.
So there's no doubt who won the election: The billionaires did! And the working class lost. But the working class would have lost no matter which party won:
Matt Gorman: "I would also push back against this dichotomy between the MAGA base and the millionaires and billionaires.
If in the H-1b, for example, the Democrats support H-1b expansion. I mean, I don't know if you would characterize them siding with millionaires and billionaires over that same thing.
Almost everyone when I worked for Jeb Bush in 2016, primary, aside from Donald Trump and others, were in support of H-1b expansions (!) as well, or at least keeping the status quo.
So I would push back a little bit on this dichotomy that it's either MAGA base or H-1b is millionaires, billionaires. That's not the case."
This is a strange and very wrong argument: Because the Democrats and Jeb Bush also support H-1b, it allegedly can't be for the billionaires?! Why the hell not?!! What it shows is that the whole political establishment, from the Democrats to Donald Trump, are on the side of Musk and the other billionaires.
The only question now is how Republicans are going to make the MAGA base reconcile its racism, i.e. 'We are poor because of all those damn foreigners taking our jobs', with the Musk and Ramaswami racism, i.e. 'No, you are poor because you are ******* retards.'

MAGA!

Happy New Year
Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump

We are the Party of COMMON SENSE, a primary reason that we WON, in a landslide, the magnificent and historic Presidential Election of 2024. ALL SEVEN SWING STATES, 312 ELECTORAL COLLEGE VOTES, AND THE POPULAR VOTE BY MILLIONS OF VOTERS (Despite large scale voter fraud taking place in numerous states, including California, where votes are ridiculously still being counted, or under review!), ALL WON WITH EASE, CALM, & PROFESSIONALISM. Republicans are being praised for having run a "legendary" campaign! Democrats are being excoriated for their effort, having wasted 2.5 Billion Dollars, much of it unaccounted for, with some being used to illegally buy endorsements ($11,000,000 to Beyoncé, who never even sang a song, $2,000,000 to Oprah for doing next to nothing, and even $500,000 to Reverend AL, a professional con man and instigator, who agreed to "interview" their "star spangled" candidates, Kamala and Joe). We ran a flawless campaign, having spent FAR LESS, with lots of money left over. They ran a very expensive "sinking ship," embracing DOJ & FBI WEAPONIZATION against their political opponent, ME. BUT IT DIDN'T WORK, IT WAS A DISASTER!!! LETS NOT BLOW THIS GREAT OPPORTUNITY WHICH WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN. The American people need IMMEDIATE relief from all of the destructive policies of the last Administration. Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard working, religious man. He will do the right thing, and we will continue to WIN. Mike has my Complete & Total Endorsement. MAGA!!!
AGAIN! Far too many words in a row with spelling, grammar and advanced punctuation to be from the brain and thumbs of the Insane Florida Golf Cheat King. I'm saying Steve Cheung for this type of ◊◊◊◊.

"No" is the short answer. This is how Musk and MAGA conduct themselves. Their spat needs to be encouraged to be all-out mutually-destructive war. Quickly. Then, with luck, the whole MAGA movement will be so wounded and dispirited before Trump is inaugurated that he will be a lame duck from Day 1.

Trump has been elected, which makes the MAGA movement irrelevant: He is president, they're not, and thus his power no longer relies on their support.
"The Moor has done his duty, the Moor can go." (Wikipedia)
MAGA's duties are no longer neede, and the MAGA base will have to find a way of dealing with its frustration of finding out that the guy they voted for is not the guy they imagined. He is an oligarch in collusion with other oligarchs.

Trump may throw them a tidbit now and then in the coming years. He may say bad things about (dark-skinned) immigrants, transsexuals and revolutionary marxist fascist Democrats now and then. Or he may not and instead focus on Panama, Canada, Denmark and other misdirecitons. Some of them may enjoy this even though that was also not what they thought they voted and campaigned for.
Biden also threw tidbits to his fans when he was drilling, drilling, drilling, for instance when he signed a treaty about USA's good intentions to decrease future CO2 emissions - unless his successor would happen to have other plans, which he probably does.

Some of the MAGA base may face the facts and realize that the billionaires are the ones who are running the show - in both parties. Some of them may even begin to understand that they are the losers of a class war and consider how to fight that kind of war. The Amazon workers seem on to something.

I enjoyed Don Lemon's rant against the MAGAmorons on TwiX. (They always seem to make him trend -- talk about LDS -- Lemon Derangement Syndrome). Cackling because he says farmers are starting to realize that they will go under in two days without immigrant help. "You dumb ◊◊◊◊◊!"
Although, that's going to hurt all of us, not just them, so I can't get behind the glee.
