The billionaires have discovered anti-vax propaganda from decades ago and now they are pretending like they’ve discovered something new and interesting. The truth is that these men are better insulated from the effects of pandemics than 99.9999% of the globe, and they simply do not care what happens to the rest of us. Musk. Lutnick. Ackman. Their arrogance is astounding. They have a lot of money and zero understanding of immunity other than their position in the justice system.

Bill Ackmann speed runs the decades-old antivax canon with the “too many too soon” and “but the ingredients!” tropes. Community Notes at least slapping down some of this ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊.

If this is how your investment manager “does the research” you should put your money elsewhere.

Senator Lisa Murkowski has announced she won’t approve any of President Trump’s nominees unless they are properly vetted by the FBI.
I doubt she has the integrity to follow through with that. I don't know of any elected Republicans that have integrity.

Trump just posted this on truth social. If this happens it will destroy my business. I don't even know what to say. I hate America so much right now its hard to put into words.

Elon is after the F-35
Following his post about manned aircraft being obsolete because of drones he now says the F-35 jet ‘will just get pilots killed because "success was never in the set of possible outcomes"

The F-35 design was broken at the requirements level, because it was required to be too many things to too many people. This made it an expensive & complex jack of all trades, master of none. Success was never in the set of possible outcomes. And manned fighter jets are obsolete in the age of drones anyway. Will just get pilots killed.

TRUMP JUST DECLARED HE’S RAISING TAXES ON YOUR GAS, COFFEE, LUMBER AND MORE ON HIS FIRST DAY IN OFFICE. THIS WILL MAKE THE STUFF YOU BUY *MORE EXPENSIVE*! THE BEGINNING OF TRUMPFLATION!

Don't forget Elon walked into Twitter and demanded programmers print out the code from the last 30-60 days for him to judge.
"Less pages = simpler" is entirely on point for the bread hamberders & circuses crowd
Galaxy Brain actually made his sacking decision based on lines of code written. If you were a sloppy coder with a bad grasp of your job (like he was when he still wrote xode) you stayed on because you were printing off whole reams of it. If you were a good coder who got the job done right with as few lines of code possible you got yourself fired.

IMO it's not that simple. Fewer lines of code doesn't necessarily mean better. For sure writing inefficient code isn't great but you also have to consider the long term maintainability/reusability of code. A longer, more complex object may be inefficient on its fist use but if it has been written in a way that it's repeatedly reusable then in time it may be more efficient. It's also possible to write code that's very compact, but also very difficult to understand (especially if it's also poorly documented). While the original coder may be able to maintain it, anyone else may have an absolute nightmare.

tl;dr any simple metric to judge "good" code is likely to be wrong

Do you think Musk understood that? Because all of the accounts at the time were demonstrating the kind of slop he was accepting as work worthy to ensure a person was kept on, and the kind of good work that was getting people fired.

I agree, Musk did not understand. I was just pointing out that "fewer lines of code = better" can be just as wrong as "more lines of code = better", and that it's more complicated than that.

My original point
At playing Diablo IV.
Getting someone else to play it for him, more likely. Either thator using bug exploits.

My guess from all his kvetching about class difference is that he's never done anything like played a D1 Beyond Naked Mage.

Good News everyone!

none of Trump's cabinet picks will have any black marks on their FBI background checks ...

... because there won't be any background checks until Trump cronies are in charge of the FBI.

Mexico will be forced to crack down on fentanyl...oh wait. American busienessmen are paying the tariff. Of course some goods might be sold at a lower rate. If they are not necessary things. Like food.

One of the reasons for background checks was to try and find out if there were skeletons in the closets that could be used to blackmail or otherwise intimidate or even merely embarrass folk in high office. That's no longer a reason, the Trump lot can't be embarrassed, skeletons aren't hidden, indeed they are often paraded in public after being dug up by the person themselves - after advertising they were getting into the resurrection business. Remember not even being a rapist is now a bar for high office.
