Trump's Second Term

Have you considered the possibility that Trump lacks the capacity to understand what qualifications are needed? Dunning and Kruger were hardly the first people to conduct a study that found that it takes competence to accurately evaluate competence.
Perhaps Trumps simply expects his cabinet picks to be "bosses" the way he is himself: he just tells someone what he wants and expects them to go off and somehow make it happen, no matter how idiotic or reprehensible or counterproductive or impossible it is. He just figures his cabinet picks will do the same thing, with it rolling downhill. He just assumes that somewhere down the line someone will do something.

The lesson that no one will earn is that you can oppose Trump and get better results. Don't just give in and obey, fight all the way, and it's likely that Trump will look for something else to do.

That's how he got the wall built.

That is pretty much how the world works for the comfortable class.

Democrats have held the House.
The Republicans have a slim 220-215 majority. This may make it difficult for them to pass legislation at times, but not quite the same as the Democrats 'held the house.'

Trump, man of the people, picks his 9th billionaire for his government.
As Greg Palast said: the Best Democracy money can buy.

They will be begging to have Deep State come back after Trump, because the deep state is what keeps us healthy and alive and gets us some education. The corporations are what keeps deep state in some control, thorough lobbying of both parties in congress. That is why we got ACA, a compromise to keep insurance companies still going.

The alternative is for us to roll over and play dead. The Oligarchs will keep us in good health and working, age 20-60. Because they need the consumers. After that we are disposable.

So there is no thread on France and I don't feel like starting one...but any thoughts on what the chaos in France might signal for an almost certainly chaotic Trump 2d term?? Unlike France he has a legislative majority but will the true conservatives finally revolt from MAGA when they see the insanity start to unfold?

I immediately recognized the Matterhorn as I've been to Zermatt more than once. But, beyond the Mango Moron not recognizing such a famous mountain, what the hell was the point of posting it in the first place?
Forgive my pickiness but as a mountain lover and hater of AI, it is not even close to the Matterhorn, in fact when I first saw the post I thought it might be a bastardization of Mt Assiniboine (which IS in Canada) since it shares some of the characterizations of that peak (lower glaciated slopes)--but aside from the similarity of the upper fluted peak to the Matterhorn it is really just a generic rugged mountain created by regurgitated pixels.

Sorry, but that is most certainly an AI based on the Matterhorn. I took this photo of it from my hotel window in Zermatt.

Well we will never know what prompt was used, but I know from using AI that it would not be necessary to give Matterhorn as a prompt for something to end up looking like the matterhorn--"rugged snowy peak" would do just as well ;) And as I said, look at the slopes below in your photo and in the one Trump posted--they are nothing alike, the only similarity is in the slight 'hook' of the upper peak, and even that does not quite match the AI creation. Since making my comment I found several people vehemently arguing online that it was actually Assiniboine in BC, but y'all are missing the point--Trump or anyone associated with Trump did not necessarily ever mention the mountain's name when this AI was generated--AI does not care, it will just regurgitate something based on the particular prompt and model used.

It's clear as glass to me that the AI is based on the Matterhorn. If you disagree, fine. It's not worth arguing about.
