Trump's Second Term

New US rules say countries with diversity policies are infringing human rights

Countries enforcing race or gender diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies will now be at risk of the Trump administration deeming them as infringing on human rights.

The State Department is issuing the new rules to all US embassies and consulates involved in compiling its annual report on global human rights abuses.

The new instructions also deem countries that subsidise abortion or facilitate mass migration as infringing on human rights.

"The Trump administration will not allow these human rights violations, such as the mutilation of children, laws that infringe on free speech, and racially discriminatory employment practices, to go unchecked."

Mutilation of children? Does he mean circumcision? I mean, he can't mean female-only genital mutilation. That would be DEI.

This may look like a joke and quack like a joke but it's a serious question.

The reports say she knows she will be primaried by the Trump Admin, and the GOP, including herself quite possibly, are going to be crucified in the midterms next year.

I suspect there's also some cowardice about the prospect of her being Charlie Kirked at some time in the current presidency. She's not as brave as her mouth thinks it is.

Looking longer term, who will take odds she will stand for President in 2028? (And her VP pick will be Bobo! ;))
Not on the last bit. The twain hate each other worse than anybody else.

Death!!

Trump: I don't know about the modern day things because, you know, modern day is a lot softer. But in the old days, if you said a thing like that, that was punishable by death. I think they're in serious trouble. In the old days it was death.

Q: But do you worry that—

Trump: Today's a different world. It's a softer, meeker, milder world.

Just a couple of days after glossing over MBS having a journalist killed and dismembered.

We can be a bit blase about the hurt Trump does to some people, we should think more about the likes of Donny Jr and Eric's feelings. Can you imagine the hurt they feel when they see this picture?

What they would do to get such a beaming and admiring smile from their father.

Sorry if I have missed this in the deluge of horrors coming from Trump and his cronies:
So I guess Trump really isn't that concerned about Christians being murdered in foreign countries after all.

We have been told, all orders issued by Donald are legal.

Because they were purportedly made by Donald, of course. Nevermind if was actually Miller using an autopen.

So I guess Trump really isn't that concerned about Christians being murdered in foreign countries after all.

Oh. Yeah. Going by the actual choices of the Trump Administration, helping Christians is just not actually what his Administration does. To borrow from a Google AI summary of "trump discriminates against christians in immigration" for ease's sake to poke at a couple of the more notable things -

  • Refugee Admissions: While Trump publicly promised to prioritize persecuted Christians for refugee status, his administration's deep cuts to the overall refugee ceiling significantly reduced the actual number of Christian refugees admitted to the U.S.. For instance, during his first term, Christian refugee entries decreased by 78%.
  • "Sensitive Locations" Policy: The Trump administration reversed a long-standing policy that generally restricted immigration enforcement actions at "sensitive locations," such as churches, schools, and hospitals. This change meant Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had more discretion to conduct arrests in or near houses of worship, leading to fear among immigrant congregations and prompting lawsuits from over two dozen religious groups.
  • Mass Deportations: The broad enforcement of immigration laws and plans for mass deportations affected millions of undocumented immigrants, many of whom are Christian, including a significant number of Catholics. This led to criticism from some Christian leaders who called the policies "morally bankrupt" and inconsistent with Christian values.
