Also it's practice and a real reason for a parade plus a bit of enthusiasm that makes them look good.
Like we do Trooping The Colour every year and the new guards with a band march to and from Buckingham and St James palaces every day.
Over the last few years guards have been paraded by Norway, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Ceylon, Pakistan and Malaya. This week there are Canadians providing the cavalry Life Guards and France provided the guards to coincide with Macron's visit. The Royal Marines and Gurkhas are regularly on parade.

My new theory is that after four years riding the Epstein band wagon Trump turned round to one of his advisors and said "Not many people know this but I used to know a guy called Jeffery Epstein. Great guy. What a coincidence, huh?" and that poor schmuck had to explain to him that it was the same person. I know you'd think all the photo's of them together all over the media should have been a give away, but as we saw in the E Jean Carrol case Trump doesn't register anyone else in a photo if he's in it, his tiny little budgie brain fixates on his own image to the exclusion of all else.
But because Trump is a moron he's not realised that countries like the UK will more than likely use funds confiscated from Russian sources to pay for them. (Probably in a roundabout way - allow Ukraine to use Russian assets to pay us for the weapons we are "selling" to Ukraine) Mr P is going to be rather angry at Mr T.
And NATO countries worry if he’ll mix up the trade war and the war in Ukraine and stop selling weapons for Ukraine if the EU imposes reciprocal tariffs.

Well, if the rest of NATO buy enough US weapons to give to Ukraine, at least Trump won't be able to moan they don't buy enough US goods any more. And if Trump can't have a peace prize because Putin won't stop the war, at least there's money to be made out of the killing.

Gotta love the irony- MAGA supports Trump through just about anything, even when he blatantly lies to them, but are now getting really pissy with him in a case where he is, at least partially, telling them the truth (that there probably was no "client list" as such and that Epstein killed himself).

Alas, that identifies and sums up a lot of the appeal that MAGAtism has for the mental bellysprawlers out there.
ETA: I inserted "mental" as a qualifier. Not all of the Trumpoids are illiterate rural slum dwellers, and it's a mistake to parody them as that way. A fair number of them are tolerably priviledged and have been to colleges of some sort. It's their sadistic impulses that Trumpff, Miller, HoeMan, and others depend on.
