We met with two of the commanding officers, and they told us the reason we were not able to stay and meet with any detainees is because the funding for ICE came from the 'Big Beautiful Bill.'"

To be fair to ICE, why should they hold to a different standard of behaviour compared to many hundreds of police forces?

I'm sure the powers that be are waiting and hoping for this to blow up like it did after George Floyd in 2020. Then they can start using physical violence, firing into crowds, declare martial law, all that fun stuff.
