Told off by Sentinal...

I have reported the post above as I believe it serves no purpose other than to attack another forum member, which I personally feel is unacceptable.

You shortstop, you!

Somebody has to be out in left field, after all. Discussing concessions at the ballpark is hardly worth being called out! Hotdog vendors are able to walk the walk, after all. Otherwise they could strike!

Sorry, I don't speak American-ese. ;)

In English? :p

here is what someone said about left field, but i wish someone could tell me what Sentinal was trying to say

WAY OUT IN LEFT FIELD - "Out of touch, eccentric, odd; also, misguided. This term alludes to the left field of baseball, and there is some disagreement concerning its origin. Some writers suggest it comes from the remoteness of left field, but only in very asymmetrical ballparks is left field more distant than right field. Others suggest it alludes to the 'wrongness' of left as opposed to the 'rightness' of right. A correspondent of William Safire's in the "New York Times" said it was an insulting remark made to those who bought left-field seats in New York's Yankee Stadium during the years that Babe Ruth played right field, putting them far away from this outstanding player. Perhaps the most likely theory is that it alludes to inmates of the Neuropsychiatric Institute, a mental hospital, which was located behind left field in Chicago's old West Side Park. Hence being told you are 'out in left field' would mean you were accused of being as peculiar as a mental patient. In any event, the term has been used figuratively for various kinds of eccentricity and misguidedness since the first half of the 20th century. John Ciardi also cited a synonym, 'out in left pickle,' maintaining that 'pickle' was baseball slang for the outfield. Perhaps it once was, but it is no longer current." From "Southpaws & Sunday Punches and other Sporting Expressions" by Christine Ammer (Penguin Books, New York, 1993).

Okay. I´ve read the whole mess now and i have no
clue who sentinel is or what he´s trying to tell us.

What was the scenario that took place on 9/11 to
make sense out of every major event in history
that you connected somehow to 9/11.

What´s your scenario? What happend on 9/11?

Um... don't stick your sticky wicket in a tea time bouncy bouncy? Paddle Thames Big Ben bowler fox hunt?

Sorry, my English is a bit rusty.

;)

beachnut: Sentinel has, through the cunning use of "placing things in lists" demonstrated that MLB is responsible for 9/11. And that Gravy is a hotdog vendor. I think it's a zen thing.

Exactly. Its a fascinating new angle that may bring down the entire what do you call it, behind 9/11, the NWO and the Swiss and all that.

On the side, like all right-thinking people, the supplanting of cricket as america's national past time by a glorified version of rounders, has always struck me as a deeply anomalous historical event. How could MLB maintain this deeply unnatural state of affairs without recourse to nefarious means? Like mind control, or something? Maybe in the lining of those really cool Yankies caps?

But I don't quite get how exactly MLB did it all. Do tell, S. I'm standing at silly mid off waiting for a tickler.

No doubt. How do you get something that boring on television almost every night for months without killing a few people?

I don´t understand you. Please do me the favor and speak
in whole sentences. It´s even hard enough to translate all
the english stuff. What was the scenario on 9/11 - what
do you think did happen?

Sorry,

Uhm...? You sure?
Did you use the [ img ] [ /img ] tags properly (without the spaces) ?
Why would your ability to add pictures be disabled?

I quoted him and his message had no Image-Tags
at all - not even misspelled ones...
