I thought JC told his peeps they weren't supposed to pray in public?
Tim Tebow credits God and prayer for his wins.
Sounds like what I was telling my nephew yesterday. The "prevent" defense is the worst name in all of sports. It prevents nothing. I would also add that I'm surprised that Tebow hasn't gotten creamed yet by some ends or OLs.
Plus, the kicker made two awesome field goals, one a 59! yarder (the second of his career) and he's mentioned as a sidenote.
Eh, the prevent works well in a few situations, like a hail mary that also requires a run after the catch.
If your defense has held an opposing team to zero points in three quarters, tell me a good reason to change.
I haven't been following the beatification of St. Tebow. Are we saying that teams are going into consecutive Prevent downs against them? Is this something new? The Prevent used to be generally used in single down situations, not for a whole quarter. (Or are people referring to a change in the emphasis from line play and rushing the QB to nickel and dime defense?)
Didn't Madden once say that the only thing the Prevent does is "prevent you from winning"?
A changing offense. For most teams, the two-minute drill is a different offense. I don't think the prevent defense was really made to prevent the other team from scoring, its job is to prevent the other team from scoring quickly.
St. George said:Can’t we silence these Christian athletes who thank Jesus whenever they win and never mention his name when they lose? You never hear them say, “Jesus made me drop the ball” or, “The Lord tripped me up behind the line of scrimmage.”

I do not see this any different then those actors/singers that win awards and go proclaim "First I have to thank God"....Tim Tebow credits God and prayer for his wins. I've always thought it odd when sports stars credit God for their wins. I have a hard time believing God would choose one team or player over another giving them a mysterious unfair advantage. No Fair! The ultimate unfair! God himself giving a hand up to a certain player. It's not like the prayer is for a sick child. Perhaps God would grant his prayers as an example of the power of prayer to all people?

Yes, God would have stopped that mine explosion, earthquake, drunk driver, etc. but was to busy helping whom ever score a touch down, score the winning run, win some award, etc.
Not to mention the Big Guy saying that anyone who works on the Sabbath shall be put to death.
Interestingly, in the early part of the 20th century there were a few Major League baseball players who refused to play in Sunday games. And the eastern MLB cities all had legal prohibitions against Sunday professional baseball. (Pittsburgh and Philadelphia were the last MLB cities to get Sunday baseball, which happened in 1933.)

Supposedly god is able to multi-task, at least since the 1.1.bb upgrade.I'm a little confused.
Why would god be so concerned about the Broncos vs say... saving a Baptized child's life, or feeding a few hundred thousand Christian Africans?
Seems that god has a pretty skewed ethical model if its more important to help the Broncos vs alleviate some suffering.
Unless it is I who has my priorities screwed up. After all, I'm an NHL fan.
