I received an anonymous email at StopSylvia with the subject "Sylvia Stroke". Here is a redacted part of it:

Sylvia is out of commission. She to has had a stroke. (2 actually) her **** ****** son is in the process of selling off her assets.

I have tried, through my contacts within Browne's camp. to confirm or refute this, but have not been able to do either.

I replied to the correspondent, asking for more detail or a source, but have received no further communication from him/her.

While I (obviously) detest what Browne has done over the years, and want her stopped, I would not wish a stroke on her, nor on anyone.

There are still Sylvia Browne appearances scheduled in the near future on her web site, so I think this one is strictly an unconfirmed rumor at this point. I post it here only to see if anyone has anything further they can add to it.
 
steve, I understand the sentiment, but that's no better than when her supporters say that MY stroke was brought about because of my having attacked (in their eyes) such a wonderful woman (again, in their eyes) as Sylvia Browne with my web site.

The boring truth is that MINE was brought about by DECADES of an atrocious diet, and a sedentary lifestyle.

If Browne has indeed had a stroke, I would imagine that it was also brought on by poor diet and lack of exercise, compounded by decades of chain smoking (and heavy alcohol and recreational drug use, if my sources are to be believed).

No need to come up with any "karmic" reasons, when the ones everyone's doctor warns them about are far more than sufficient.
 
I also would wish a stroke on no-one so if it is true that she has suffered one or two strokes recently, then I hope she is cared for by people who have the same levels of compassion that she has.
 
I consider her an evil exploiter of the most vulnerable people, but I wouldn't wish that on her.

If true, the sad thing for her is she will not have the Lovely Susan to take care of her. I'm willing to bet a great deal of your recovery had to do with her.
 
I don't see any problem with wishing evil on evil people, but in support of the wishes of this thread's host I will wish Ms Browne either a speedy recovery or a quick and painless transition to whatever state follows this one. Though I hope she haunts that ghoulish kid of hers.
 
So far, a quick check shows we are the only place noting a possible stroke for SB. So, I assume the provider of the info was making it up or reading an older rumor and thinking it current.

...or the correspondent is what he or she claimed to be: someone with direct connections to SB's family.
 
I hope the stroke affected the part of her brain that processes subterfuge and forces SB to tell nothing but the unvarnished truth from now on.

Looks like all her upcoming shows were cancelled due to "illness" and her offices are being sold.

Thanks for that info, QG. It appears the informant in the OP was right about Sylvia's health being poor.

I don't see this as karma, since I don't believe in karma. I'm not happy she is unwell, but I am happy she won't be conning any more people at least for the present time.

Probably some phony defense like "the stroke has affected my gift. The channel to the spirit world seems to have closed off. I have always been told by the spirits that something dark is coming my way." Then proceed to write a book on spirit communication and how to recognise warning signs of future events in the natural world.
