Merged StopSylvia emails

I recall reading that Sylvia had attributed Robert's stroke to the upset and vengeance of Azna. I don't know if she ever said that publicly but I think she'd said it in the office.

That being said, I wonder if any of this has created a crisis of belief for the people who had remained loyal in the office. If any of them should happen upon this thread, I'm happy to talk if you ever want to PM (send me a private message). I know what it's like to experience disillusion and mixed feelings and grief.

Looks like all her upcoming shows were cancelled due to "illness" and her offices are being sold.

Thanks for all of that research and detail, QG! In better days, that would all be incorporated into a SSB article (sigh).

ETA:

I'm not happy she is unwell, but I am happy she won't be conning any more people at least for the present time.

Agreed, Orph!

The shame will be if illness prevents her from being brought to justice for her fraud.

While I understand the sentiment, I don't know at this point if the legal system ever would have been interested in pursuing the case. :(

So I was told.

I just sent an email to Randi detailing all of what is known about this, giving due credit to my correspondent and QG.

Probably some phony defense like "the stroke has affected my gift. The channel to the spirit world seems to have closed off. I have always been told by the spirits that something dark is coming my way." Then proceed to write a book on spirit communication and how to recognise warning signs of future events in the natural world.

I respect those of you who wish no ill-will on her, and I certainly wish to tip my cap to RSL and the rest of you for taking the high road here, but I just have to say this, for the reasons quoted above:

I hope it is a painful journey that ends harshly for her, and results in only negative cash-flow for her and her organization from this day forward. All would be lost, however, if this in some way turned into a vehicle to extend her influence. If all she does is expire, and not before the entirety of her empire has been crushed to dust, this will have ended tragically. IMHO anyway.

I just sent this reply to the correspondent:

[NAME]:

Following up on your information, I now see that some of her upcoming appearances have been canceled due to "health reasons" and that her offices are being sold.

Again, I would not wish a stroke (let alone TWO of them) on anybody, but I am glad to learn that it looks like her days of preying on people at emotionally vulnerable points in their lives may be winding down. I just hope that her sons and her staff don't find a way to milk a few more books out of this.

Best regards,

Sorry if I made it sound like I had done your research QG, but I didn't want to take the time to spell it out.

It seems rather inconsiderate of her to book all those dates when she was going to have a stroke.

Worth pointing out Sylvia Browne Corp. still has an active business license with the State of California at the for sale address (Search: http://kepler.sos.ca.gov/ ).

I just sent this reply to the correspondent:

No problem. Just keep us informed with the response.

How about the people running Sylvia Browne Corporation and Novus Spiritus promoting products and shows without mentioning Browne's shows are cancelled, the "illness" or the sale?

Having your offices with furniture sold and having to be out within 15 days of sale is probably a bigger deal for the organization than playing prerecorded Browne clips on an Internet radio show?

Edit to add:

When looking for any recent news about her, I saw this when she was asked about Randi just a few weeks ago:
Psychic Sylvia Browne - and her believers - to convene at N.J. venues
Daily Record
Sep. 18, 2013
...
Scientific skeptic James Randi, a retired magician, has publicly doubted Browne. Randi even called her out on “Larry King Live.’’

“He’s a crazy man,” Browne said. “He is an atheist. I don’t care what he thinks or says. I know what I can do and so do all of the people who have come out to see me and connect with me. The bottom line, for me, is that I try to help people and I enjoy it very much. I’m fortunate that I have the ability to help so many. So I’ve done just that over the years. I hope to be able to do this for many years.”

This article notes a previous show in the area was cancelled:
Sylvia Browne to tap into spirit realm at Four Winds
September 25, 2013
Eloise Marie Valadez

Noted spiritual teacher, psychic and author Sylvia Browne will bring her unique show/event to audiences Sept. 27 at Silver Creek Event Center in New Buffalo, Mich.

Browne said she looks forward to her live appearances which draw audience members eager to tap into the spirit realm and those perhaps hoping to connect with loved ones who've passed on.

"It's always nice meeting new people. I love it," said Browne during a recent telephone interview. She said people are often grateful to spend some time talking with her and they'll often make comments indicating she really helped them or even "saved their lives."

This appearance marks Browne's first time at Four Winds' event center. Being a Midwest native, she said it's nice to be back.

"It's like going home," Browne said. The psychic was scheduled to make an appearance in the Region in March of 2011 at Star Plaza Theatre. That event was cancelled because Browne broke her hip.

I don't know how the author knows it was cancelled due to a "broken hip," because her March 2011 shows were cancelled after:
World Famous Psychic, Author Sylvia Browne Hospitalized in Hawaii
March 25th, 2011
Hawaii Reporter

Sylvia Browne, world famous author and psychic, suffered a heart attack while in Hawaii, an email message from her church says.

She held a concert on Friday night, March 18, which went for several hours at the Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu.

On Sunday, she held a special gathering and "Spiritual Salon" at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

Then Monday, March 21, she suffered a heart attack. She was about to return home when the event occurred.

As for real estate, the Sylvia Browne Corporation address is 6000 Hellyer Ave. Suite 150 San Jose, CA 95138.

"Two days ago", according to loopnet.com, the property at 6000 Hellyer Ave Suite 150 was listed for sale. See listing here: http://www.loopnet.com/xNet/MainSit...spx?LID=18400385&linkcode=13850&FromPPPP=true or flyer "for sale or lease" here: http://www.loopnet.com/Attachments/5/8/D/58D32FD8-E0B8-42E6-BFCE-7E555A609422.pdf

It is also on the real estate agent's listings here http://www.colliersparrish.com/htmlreports/htmlreport_main.aspx?availid=1016151293&availsubtype=4 and says:

If there is any more confirmation needed, click on the listing to see the "Sylvia Browne Corporation" name as well as the smaller "Society of Novus Spiritus" name beneath it on the building for sale.

In addition, the office next door at 6000 Hellyer Ave Suite 100 is also for sale with this notation:

Man. When you go after some-one theres just no hiding place.
I am in awe

I agree 100%

Today's copy of the Tucson Weekly has an ad for "Sylvia Browne, an afternoon of insights and live readings."

Date and time: December 14, 2013. Doors open at 1 pm; show at 2 pm

Place: Desert Diamond Casino, south of Tucson.

The same ad was in the newspaper last week.

A search of the Desert Diamond Casino website ( http://www.ddcaz.com ) for Browne turned up no results. Also Browne's website ( http://www.sylviabrowne.com/pg/jsp/general/appearances.jsp ) doesn't list that date or venue even though it has appearances that are no longer scheduled (like the Spirit Lake Casino which is cancelled).

Maybe the newspaper ad was already paid for and nobody wanted to bother recalling it.

Like the other posters I don't wish ill on someone but I am glad that her evil and degenerate immoral behaviour is stopped (on hiatus?).

You still said it too nicely for me. I often wished her ill will (I'm a skeptic so what's the harm?) and I am not saddened by this news in the least.

She owns a vacation home right around the corner from the home of a family member of mine. I was hoping to toilet paper it someday - maybe I'll buy it instead. I believe her son actually uses it.

Hopefully he goes down with the ship?

That's a likely explanation. As someone else upthread pointed out, if the staff have a limited amount of time to close up the office and sell everything off things like that are going to fall between the cracks.
