Because McClatchey investigated and found that there was no substance to the rumors that Blumenthal was peddling.

1. Actually reporting that people are floating unconfirmed rumors is frowned upon, as it seems to be suggesting that the rumors are true.

"Sources say that Obama was born in Kenya, and we sent a reporter who was unable to confirm the rumor, but they persist."

it only became news when the Clinton Campaign began denying it

That was your answer, you don't want him around you? Well you are right, I certainly overlooked that "answer."

Why did he pick her as SoS? Easy, he cut a political deal no doubt brokered by their mutual friends in the Chicago Machine, picked up her support and at the same time keeping her close. As a quid pro quo, they said that Hillary could not have her snarling attack dog, so she immediately stabbed him the back and put him on the Charity payroll.

Obama did a deal with the devil, too bad but that is the Chicago Way.

Obama picked her after he won the election. She wasn't expecting him to, and considered saying no. And I doubt Obama cares that Sid worked for the CF.

I will also note that he will be enthusiastically campaigning for her. First time a sitting President has done that in perhaps ever.

And of those three accounts of those two events only Asher's tweet is quoted as saying Sid said that Obama was born in Kenya.

Luckily the tweet was backed by serious contemporaneous documentation by Asher: he kept Sid's business card! And then kept quiet about it for years.

That is odd, you seem to believe that this thread is limited solely to the birther issue.

Obviously that is a big issue, but there are tons more!

Like the fact that Hillary's foundation paid him almost $750k of "charity" money for a do nothing "job."

That is big too!

Any comments about that?
