RIP: Tony Snow

I challenge everyone here who didn't like Tony Snow to say something nice about him. I'll go first

uhhhh

hmmmmm

Ok he was tall.

You know I don't post in this section often, but some of the comments here kind of forces my conscience to be heard.

I think DeBakey will of course be remembered long after Snow. However, as others have said, Tony Snow was taken from his family and friends long before he should have. He leaves people behind who will miss him dearly. Many of these people, of course, were involved in the media, and therefore they will cover it, as they did with Russert, a fair bit more. How some of you are so incapable of empathy, or even sympathy, is unsettling.

If you don't like what the news covers, then (A) do something about it, or (B) shut the **** up, turn it off, and go out and get some exercise and fibre.

Really. Some people here, I think, act horrible. My only hope is that you write things so insensitive here because you need an outlet for anger. The alternative, that some of you are truly that horrible in "real life", is a little disturbing.

TAM:)

"You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talkin' to? You talkin' to me? Well I'm the only one here. Who the **** do you think you're talking to?"

I see the snarky left-wingers are out again, smirkingly pleased at the news of the death of a wrong-thinker.

Contrast with the reaction from those of us on the right when the news about Ted Kennedy's brain cancer came out. Anyone recall seeing any posts that said, "Good, I hope the sumbitch dies horribly"?

I would be pleased - and shocked - if anyone on the left could show this much class on hearing news about a political opponent's fatal illness.

Instead we get stuff like this.

And hateful posts like some we see here.

Go ahead lefties - you may now resume your perch of moral superiority over the rest of us.

Kennedy and Hatch, although ideological opposites, are friends who have cosponsored legislation. A heartfelt tribute to a friend.

If you google "Kennedy brain cancer Chappaquiddick" you come up with 11,000 hits. Things like "is Kennedy's brain cancer payback for Chappaquiddick?" "Happy Chappaquiddick anniversary, senator Kennedy"

Or how about these comments:

In all the ballyhoo being spewed by the MSM I have yet to hear them call him a murderer, a drunk, a womanizer, and adulterer, an abortion supporting liberal or any of that, hes getting a free pass from ALL of them, and hes not even dead yet, I wonder what we’ll hear when that takes place?

Excuse me if I can’t offer up any sympathy for Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, I despised him in life and I will not denigrate myself by becoming a hypocrite as his death approaches.

So before you try to knock liberals off the perch of moral superiority, find me a lefty who said something like this about Tony Snow.

As you wish.

Comments on the story about his funeral:

The Republicans led by GWBush no doubt will miss Tony Snow, but the rest of America will not. He was a media hack from day one of his career, carefully aligning himself with the ultra right wing to gain promotion. Well, he's gone now, and that's good for America. It's also good to see him in that little urn. It's right where he belongs. Perhaps GWBush will put it on his mantlepiece back in Crawford, TX, to remind him of his faded days of glory.
Excuse me why I barf NYT writers, this puke was the voice of propoganda for the worst stupidest most evil politician in my lifetime, liars, deceivers, violators of the Constitution Snow was a jerk-good riddance
A perpetual liar for Bush. So that means he was complicit in all that Bush has done to the country. Another circle jerk republicon who enjoyed lying for his boss.
Burn in hell Tony. Maybe you and Barbara Olson can share a fire-pit.
I like this one. Barbara Olson died in a plane crash just outside Washington, DC, on September 11, 2001.

Just as he parroted his president that the world is better off without Saddam-
So too, we are better off without SnowJob.
Tony Snow was a neocon propogandist - he will be remembered as a traitor to America. A man who launched the failed attacks on President Clintion during Monicagate - and helped beat the drums of War in Iraq. A vapid evil propoganist. May he rot in hell.
And that's just from Washington Post readers. The sheer quantity of the vile comments at the left-wing house organs HuffingtonPost.com and DailyKos.com will make any normal person puke.

Yep, if you go into the "comments" section it can get pretty ugly. I was referring to the bloggers, not the letter writers. No matter.

I think we have demonstrated that neither side has a monopoly on tasteless jerks.

I missed the part where Tony would drown puppies and howl at the moon. What exactly did the guy do to earn so much contempt from Democrats? I've never really bought partisan polemics. I don't *hate people because I disagree with them but that's just me. I guess to some skepticism is hating those who you disagree with and attacking someone just as that person dies certainly smacks of enjoyment at the expense of others.

A few of my conservative friends had a great time of it when Ted Kennedy died so I know that it isn't just a Democrat thing.

Hey, different strokes.

*If you don't like the word substitute strong enough feelings to post negative comments on the day the guy died (or that false decorous BS like "I won't say anything negative"). Yeah, we all buy that.

The reports of his death, if any, have been exaggerated.
:D Damn. That's one of the biggest ****up's I've made in a long time. I knew that. Dan Quayle was right. It is a terrible thing not to have a mind.
