I came across this piece on the Skeptical Inquirer FB page.
http://badufos.blogspot.com/2011/01/abductology-implodes.html

I had an avid interest in UFOs throughout my youth and for many years after. I used to read every book I could find about UFOs. In my 20s I was given a copy of Whitley Streiber's Communion which I read and later, Transformation. I finally gave up on UFOs and haven't really read much or followed the latest "developments" for several years.
Even when I thought there might be be some sort of legitimate UFO phenomenon, I always thought the abduction accounts were ridiculous. I have no medical/psychological background, but these accounts sounded like some sort of psychological problem.
This piece points out how some of the major figures in "Abductology" are being questioned.

I always wondered how the aliens never had a bad day. You know, the new guy forgets to turn on the device that keeps someone in the restraints and suddenly you have a " bat in the house" esque situation in the ship. ( or kind of a reverse " Aliens" film, i guess.)

Not one screw up in all the times they have abducted people? Advanced technology i can accept, but never making a mistake? That is a bit....out there.

They are so highly evolved that they don't make mistakes. EVER.

What about all those scars, and strange lumps they leave on people?

Or the ship they apparently lost at area 51.

Or the fact they have no managed to figure out our social hierarchy , and keep kidnapping the bottom the barrel versus anyone important?

Taking ufo claims at face value, it seems the aliens arn't exactly the brightest stars in the galaxy. I can imagine the conversation....

" Krog, for the life of me, i can't figure out how human society manages to keep going. WE have abducted millions of people, and judging by that all they do is fire guns into old cars, drink homemade liquor, listen to this " alex jones" fellow, and watch Nascar."

" You got me Mort..... hey look at the size of the creature that one is using to attack those plants, this one has to be one of the leaders of the planet, it has tamed one of those John Deer beasts. I have a good feeling about this one...."

That's what they want you to think.

You know all this talk has given me a great idea for a comedy sci fi flick.

A real Ash Williams/John Mcclain/Vic Mackey type buys a farm and makes himself appear to be the perfect target for an alien abduction. Little do the little grey men know his plan is to get aboard and kick some ***. Turning it into a reversal of your standard " alien on the ship" movie. Make the aliens more interested in science than combat, and the possibilities are endless.

Perhaps these problems are stemming from the faulty premise that UFOs are "aliens" of a biological nature? The 'ET hypothesis' is falling apart, and so naturally "Abductology" would fall apart as well if it is based on an assumption that the ET hypothesis is valid.

Oh don't get me wrong. The UFO phenomenon is legitimate. Its just that the nature of the phenomenon is not biological and technological as many assume. The true nature of the UFO phenomenon is mystical and psychical. I can't help but wonder how many "Abductologists" have labored under the misdirection of a flawed ET mythology. Operating under that kind of flaw will leave them vulnerable to the true nature of the phenomenon.

" Biological aliens " Versus " Mystical aliens" , on next week's episode of B.S. deathmatch. And stay tuned in two weeks for our 2 hours long Unicorns versus Leprechauns special.

The contradictions and errors still remain, and it still doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

But I guess if one requires no consistency in rules or logic it is easy to believe

Watching the original "Clash of Titans" here. The stop-montion Kraken beats them both and uses the unicorn's horn as a toothpick after eating leprechauns and aliens at a mystic saucer.

Beauty markd

Its under Denver airport

Cows are asking themselves the same question - why us?

The article you mention raises some questions about the methodology of some “famous” UFO abductee investigators. Of course its inherent bias is in plain sight when it sates on the forth line ”… and a trickle of others…”, trying to play down the number of abductee cases as if it were some minor phenomenon confined to a few “celebrity” cases. In fact many millions of people from all over the world claim to have been abducted by aliens.

The phenomenon is very real and many, if not most people are severely traumatised by their experiences in that regard. That much is fact.

Then we come to the (so called “Troika” of) investigators. The principle objection to their methodology seems to be whether the use of hypnosis is legitimate - or it should be a principle objection – what we actually find in the linked “article” is some hearsay accusations from a disgruntled patient and an ex-wife – hardly the most reliable of sources one would have thought... yet the author of the article claims that the abductee investigator’s methodology is questionable… yeah right…

Legitimate questions do surround the investigator's methodology. Nevertheless, as with all such things, nothing is ever as “black and white” as the debunkers make them out to be. The phenomenon is real! However, the explanation for why so many millions of people should be claiming to have been abducted by aliens (and have objectively been severely traumatised in the process) is hotly debated. I can only suggest that readers make up their own minds (http://www.ufoevidence.org/topics/abduction.htm).

What you forget is that a stop motion creature can only make one action in a round, Worst case scenario the leprechaun would rip off the unicorn's horn, and use it to cast a wish spell to destroy the kraken. ( someone can't wait for the d and d game tomorrow, lol. )

The aliens must be very evolved when they can learn everything about the human race by sticking a prod up our asses.

I never pass up an opportunity to post this cartoon I did last year.

Replying to "Bad UFOS" with "ufoevidence" is just giving another biased view. Where is a neutral source just presenting the facts?

"Die Hard on a UFO". Like it. I think it's genuinely got the potential to be a great film.

Just to be clear - the phenomenon of people believing that they have been abducted is very real. That the abductions are real is something that has never been established.
