I thought about that, because a few months ago I emailed Randi about a separation of church/state matter at my stepdaughter's afterschool program. He was very kind and gracious -- much more than I could have imagined -- and supportive.

However, I asked BF if he got an e-mail from Randi confirming that he's a nonpsychic, regular fellow would it be enough. A resounding NO was the answer.
 
If don't have the e-mail from Randi already, then of course he can't be psychic!

It all makes so much sense now!
Randi was born with natural psi abilities of Mental Manipulation and Power Absorption.
By setting up the JREF challenge, he leads unsuspecting psychics right into his grasp, then he uses his MM ability to cause them to fail at the test, and then uses his Power Absorption to suck their abilities dry. By now he must have the power and abilities of hundreds or thousands of psychics!

Lets reverse roles here for a minute and say for instance Randi is applying for the Million dollar challenge. What woo hoo super power do you think he would try and demonstrate, and how successful do you think he would be?

I've argued this. BF gets his panties in a wad about the MDC. He's one of those who won't bother to sit down and read the challenge rules, the protocols, past challengers, etc. He just "heard" that Randi will never part with his money...

Someone who prefers to remain in the background, never admitting or denying the existance of mutant psychic abilities, and covertly educating, training, protecting, and encouraging mutants psychics to grow and develop their abilities in preparation for the day when mutants psychics will one day be revealed for who they are.

Uri Geller, of course! Randi, however, had used his Mental Manipulation™ to make it seem like Uri Geller is a bumbling con-artist, when really Uri Geller is the only mutant left fighting for Truth, Justice, and the American Way.

We're (clearly) all under his spell!

I'm not sure of Randi's ultimate plan, I'll have to do more research (order more X-men back issues).
