Just like when they figured out how to make abortion illegal, they are trying to convince the public that the democrats are just being dramatic.
Well, yes.
Would it surprise you to learn that for the first time in 40 years, the 2024 Republican party platform doesn't call for a national abortion ban? There are multiple ways one might interpret it. Given his history, I think the most logical interpretation is that Trump isn't interested in one, because he's actually relatively moderate on the abortion issue. A more cynical take is that it's not a politically winning issue, so Trump won't pursue it. And even more cynical one is that Trump doesn't even want to have a political fight over it because as things stand now, he can already say he won. No point in risking a possible future defeat. GG no re, if you will. But regardless of what motives you want to ascribe to it, I think it's clear that Trump isn't going to pursue a national abortion ban. He really has no reason to.
So yeah, democrats freaking out over something he's not going to do are indeed being dramatic.
