I don't think Bob is playing with words.

Regardless of the process that got to the status quo, if the negotiations are such that one side can walk away from the negotiations and nothing will change, then the status quo need not be a compromise.

Yes, the statu quo isn't necessarily a compromise. It just usually is.

That could be interesting but then again Flynn may just be looking after his own interests. He knows that he personally is up ****-creek without a paddle and sees this as an opportunity to get immunity. He may not have anything damning or even useful to say and so he may escape prosecution in exchange for useless testimony.
Immunity is pre-negotiated, aka proferred. He won't get immunity without laying his cards on the table first.

Flynn was denied immunity. Could his testimony also have something to do with what he knew about a declassified intelligence report?

U.S. intelligence agencies released a declassified report in January concluding that Putin ordered a campaign to influence the 2016 election in favor of Trump.

"We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the U.S. presidential election. Russia's goals were to undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton and harm her electability and potential presidency," the report reads, referring to the Russian government's "longstanding desire to undermine the U.S.-led liberal democratic order."

"We further assess Putin and the Russian government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump," the report continued, saying Putin nursed a "grudge" against Clinton "for comments he almost certainly saw as disparaging."

Flynn probably denied immunity for the main reason immunity is denied:He did not have enough to offer the investigators that they did not already know.

Trump bashes the New York Times, CNN etc., accusing them of practicing vendetta-style journalism and being purveyors of Fake News. But one media outlet our president seems to be on very good terms with is the National Enquirer. The feeling is mutual. Last year, for the first time in its 90-year history, the Enquirer endorsed a candidate for political office. And that candidate was one Donald J. Trump. Bloomberg News reported on Trump's friendship with Enquirer chief executive officer and chairman since 1999, David Pecker.
“I have known Donald Trump for 25 years and I am proud to call him a friend. I support his candidacy for President and greatly admire what he has achieved in a relatively short period of time as a non-politician,” Pecker said in a statement.

I scan the headlines of the National Enquirer while standing on line at a local Walgreen's and here's what this week's front pages says:

PROOF OBAMA WIRETAPPED TRUMP!

For once, could Trump show just a smidgen of decency, and ask his pal Pecker to maybe tone down the blitz a bit? :(

Immunity, according to both Trump and Flynn during the campaign, is proof you've committed a crime. Now one's asking for it and the other thinks he should get it. LOCK THEM UP!

Interesting point. Logger, could you please clarify this seeming contradiction?

"May be"? As if any of them give a rip about anyone but themselves?

Amen. This is the president who, according to the alt-right, left the US more racially divided than ever due to who-knows-what and whatever. And how dare(!!) a black man understand complicated health care, when a decent crook - I mean, rich white man with lawyers - cannot, and has to wave a white flag? Scandalous uppity blacks!
Gawd it's disgusting. What is wrong with people that they actually were influenced by Obama's parentage rather than his person.

Not all of them

He argues that he destroyed the value of the land in westchester by building a golf course on it after all.

http://money.cnn.com/2017/01/18/news/donald-trump-golf-course-taxes/

Trump claims in court that his golf course is worth $1.5million. The town disagrees.

I think the town should be able to buy the course from Trump for what he is claiming in court that it is worth.

On the other hand, Guatemala tried that with U.S. Fruit, and look where that got them.

Dump corrupt, Trump!! That is not the kind of person America needs as president.
