Ed Prediction,

I have definitely heard similarly stupid commentary when liberal "protesters" are confronted with facts. Let's face it, idiots are idiots. When you are that immersed in your own ideology, you can only see one truth.

People can be stupid no matter what their politics... or lack thereof...are. Agreed. But, I'd like to hear some of these '"liberal" protestors" you speak of that are the equivalent to that young man. Not a "man on the street" or "girl at the beach" or "look how dumb Biden voters are" videos...but people actually attending a protest. I assume you can provide some?

This kind of cements my point.

No, what will cement you post is providing videos or quotes w/ citations that show "liberal" protestors saying things as stupid as that young man denying that the Jan. 6 rioters were just "trespassers" and that the police were at fault for getting assaulted...only according to him, it wasn't assault.

Certainly, I could. But I'm not doing it in this thread. The idea that there are no liberal protesters who might be similarly clueless, again, cements my point. I am not commenting on it any further, here.

Ah...the old "I could do it but I won't support my own claims for....reasons. Followed by the old twenty-three skidoo. Gotcha.

Becareful he might find the old democratic Undergound Forum, 2006 and the Chicken Wire and Concrete block experiments. They were close to as dumb as the person on the CNN video.

I wouldn't have to dig that deep to find examples of Dem stupidity, trust me.

Interesting; it gave me the same error message in Chromium, but worked when I tried it in Firefox.

It's sad to see someone so young go so badly off the rails. In Europe it's said that if a young man isn't a socialist at twenty he has no heart, and if he's still a socialist at forty he has no brains. For this guy it looks like he's lacking both.

Mind you, by the measure expressed in the quote above the same is true of me as well! :eye-poppi

What a crap line. People use it as a put down. There isn't a nation in the Western world that isn't loaded with socialist programs. Are you saying those programs are stupid and without merit?

That quote has been attributed to many men, but the earliest anyone has been able to document it is to the 2nd US President, John Adams. But that does not mean Adams is the originator.

I agree with acbytesla: it's a stupid statement, not a profound one. The fact is, people tend get more conservative as they age not due to being wiser, but because they have more they want to protect for themselves.

You need a balance;total socialism. ...total government control over the economy...has failed miserably whenever tried. You need a strong safety net,but still allow Market Forced to dominate.
But I noitce how some here just bristle if anybody suggests that socialism has it's weak points and failing.

People work hard, accumlulte some money, and they want to keep it. How shocking.

I would argue that they want to accumulate more than the next guy. It has nothing to do with absolute wealth.
If we took 90% of the wealth of everyone with a net worth of $100 million+, nothing would change in the ranking of "richest people on earth", and nothing would change in their lifestyles, either.
