Trump is not the only Republican keeping his distance. Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Madison Cawthorn, who were scheduled to speak at the event, both canceled their appearances, Politico reported.

The CNN reporter talked to some of whackos who showed up and he said "They are so crazy that they don't even believe the videos that they're seeing." One guy told him it was the police officers' fault for getting attacked because they didn't "get out of the way". They believe the rioters were just trespassers and are being treated unfairly.
They don't even believe their own eyes. How crazy is that? The ability of people to hand wave away facts and rationalize what they want to believe over what all rational reason should tell them is just amazing. These truly are the 'deplorables'.

Planners for the much-anticipated event had projected up to 700 protesters, but far fewer turned up for an event billed to raise support for hundreds of rioters arrested in the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol assault.

Capitol Police estimated that the gathering numbered up to 450.
