Prediction thread: What will the U.S. gov't do that most resembles the Third Reich?

I absolutely did mean that. It's something I've been saying here for years. I'm happy to finally get some agreement.
Ah, forgot where I saw you criticise Trump's recent statements on Ukraine. I'm happy to finally see you criticising him. Mostly you just take snipes against other people criticising him.

Do you think that is the way America is headed? What should be done I wonder? I am mixed. I like some points on both sides with mostly learning towards progressive policies. For instance, I think a lot of conservatives think that some of what Bernie Sanders says is smart. That is just a guess though.

Well Bannon did a Nazi salute on stage which was a little too much for the French far-right.

Sure, Bannon’s not in the government but he was on the same stage as Vance and Musk. I guess Musk has no moral authority to complain.

I predict we will see more of these from those connected to the US government and apologetics for them from people around here.

Huh, well, let's see: So far, Trump has depoliticized the Intelligence Community, returned the government to sanity and biology by acknowledging there are only two genders, stopped the pushing of extremist political views onto the federal workforce by ending so-called "DEI," exposed billions of dollars in wasteful and/or fraudulent spending, reduced the size of the federal workforce, ended the insanity and unfairness of allowing males to compete in female sports, appointed an HHS secretary who is not in the hip pocket of Big Pharma, appointed a CDC head who will actually follow the science instead of twisting it, appointed a Department of Education secretary who will care more about educating kids and preserving local control of education than about pandering to the teachers' unions, initiated action against cities and counties that defy federal immigration laws, ended the weaponization of the justice system, ended federal censorship of social media, fired corrupt oversight officials, protected minors from being persuaded to get their genitals surgically mutilated, etc.

Yeah, wow, that totally sounds like the Third Reich, hey?

Red (hat) pilled much?

Trump will continue to spread his propaganda by using the media.

New York University historian Ruth Ben-Ghiat, who is an expert on authoritarian movements and leaders, tells the Times that Trump's willingness to repeat falsehoods constantly without any regard for their veracity makes him "one of the most skilled propagandists in history."

Hunter College historian Benjamin Carter Hett, meanwhile, told Baker that there was a direct link between Trump's campaign of lies and the sort of propaganda that Nazis used to gain power nearly 100 years ago.

"Exactly the same kind of thing happened in the very diverse and lively German press of the 1920s and 1930s," he said.
