There are plenty of better places in the DC area to put a clandestine AI data center.
Beats me too. I try to think like a toddler and still don't get it. A ballroom? Makes some degree of sense, at least in the toddler-dictator mindset. A data centre? Beats me. Maybe the few balls still bouncing around in his pachinko brain hit the lights for 'money' and 'data centre' simultaneously, and his dementia made him forget, if he even knows, that data centres are huge and, most importantly, incredibly loud?I'm not seeing the point of building a data center in the White House. What am I missing?
I don't know about the wheelbarrows. I figured the data will go directly to the tariff shelf via pneumatic tubes. Coal burners will heat up the steam required.I think he wants it close so they don't have to bring the noughts and ones to him in wheel barrows because some of the data might fall out.
And he probably thinks it will help him cheat in the election he's not allowed to participate in/will be dead and burning in Hell by.
I'm not saying the theory is credible, (but ALIENSIn one of my data centers we have some computing machinery that tips the scale at over 90 dB. Yes, hearing protection is required.
I don't see the advantage of building a large data center under the White House, or anywhere on the White House grounds. If the government wants secret data centers, there are plenty of ways to have them. There's a "secret" NSA data center just across the freeway from one of my data centers, so it's not as if they don't already have them. Put it out on the Beltway somewhere, if you really need one, built it and call it the Donald J. Trump Center for Ethics in Government to disguise it.
I wouldn't be the least surprised to learn that some of the proposed new construction includes better space for technology. I don't think either the original builders of the White House or more lately Pres. Truman in the 1950s contemplated the need for server space in what amounts to an office building decorated with some ceremonial rooms. They had to dig additional basements for the laundry and kitchen, so why not also for the server rooms. I imagine they've been shoving servers into whatever closets are available now for decades and the IT people must be frazzled. And if the underground command bunker—also not a secret—is being expanded or rebuilt, I would imagine it would need a fairly robust technology infrastructure to make it work.
That's the dumbest thing I've heard today. The executive branch and Presidential authority are not limited to the White House. They comprise dozens upon dozens of buildings in the district and surrounding areas, all under executive authority and control.I'm not saying the theory is credible, (but ALIENS) but she does attempt to explain the reasoning for the location...
You know that with Dump, more likely than not that means you're getting close, rightThat's the dumbest thing I've heard today.
I'm imagining that if they were going to dig in a fortified command bunker, for Trumpian ego it would be bigger and better than the Fuhrerbunker or the Moscow Metro - at least a hundred meters deep underground and shielded beyond belief. With a gold dining room and big-screen TVs, no doubt. But even that would be more feasible than a data center. And if the underground command bunker—also not a secret—is being expanded or rebuilt, I would imagine it would need a fairly robust technology infrastructure to make it work.
Semi-seriously, it does appear that Trump's understanding of the world is not just coloured by those who surround him, it is totally dependent on them and how they present it to him. His thoughts and limited imagination and last functioning neuron connections, which do affect the fate of the USA, are very much the product of his courtiers' machinations. I don't see them sitting about cackling and rubbing their hands in evil glee. But I do imagine backroom conversations along the lines of "What will we get him to say today? Or should we just leave him on his settee in front of the TV today... Is it time for his meds again? Oh, and take his phone off him!"I wonder if along with seeming to think Hannibal Lecter is a real person he thinks Dr. No is a documentary.
So true. The White House has 35 bathrooms - more than enough rooms for the preferred data storage method by Trump.I'm not seeing the point of building a data center in the White House. What am I missing?
Getting into the mind of somebody like TACO is easy. He's a man with a monumental ego with an equally fragile sense of self and who has no aesthetic taste or sense of style. Therefore, the big massive monument to himself by way of a tacky and aesthetically worthless ballroom is the most reasonable option in this case. With all his ranting about Elonia and election machines, could he have decided he wants a data centre of his very own to move all the election computer voting stuff in-house? Get all the ones and zeroes onto the White House grounds so he can add and remove votes as he pleases? Just trying to get into his head and try to work out why he'd want something as random as a date centre basically on his lawn.

I don't mean the voting machines themselves, just all the votes from the machines around the country. Dump and his handlers can sit in the data centre and monitor them and adjust results as neccessary. Or just his handlers --the toddler-king would be in bed with his hamberder and ketchup bottle, watching the results come in on his TV.

The disappointing thing for his fans is that the people who wind him up and set him off in various directions seem to be similarly guileless. The cliche would be that they were the real evil geniuses, but the genius bit seems absent. He has demonstrated little talent for subterfuge.
