Pizzagate

As I've pointed out earlier in this thread people who have visited Tony Podesta's home have been shocked by some of the stuff on his wall, specifically because some of it basically involves naked teens (possibly underage).

Art. I don't understand it and I don't trust it.

Artists spend their entire lives learning how to inject feelings - unwanted feelings - into others. Beware.

I remember reading in school about the Salem which trials and wondering how so many people could go collectively insane in such a damaging and vindictive way. Now I don't have to wonder anymore. It's only a matter of time before one of these vindictive witch hunts based ends in a vigilante not just terrorizing men, women, and children, but actually killing someone.

The take we came away with in my freshman US history class, after carefully tracking changes in land deeds, was that the entire thing was a conspiracy by one group of families to grab property from other villagers using appeals to fear and irrationality under the aegis of holy authority. Trump and today's Republicans continue in that time-honored tradition.

"Anything and everything is fair in war (uh, love?, forgetaboutit), unless the same is done to us, or merely claimed to be done to us, in which case it's an utter world-ending horror and a complete travesty requiring brimstone. Our Motto: Prey on the weak, dismiss the meek, send darkie widows into mourning, show no mercy, make no peace, persecute all enemies, real or imagined. Screw the Sermon on the Mount, Propaganda Rulz!" - Republican Irrational Committee for the Goebbels Faithful, aka, "White Christians".

Don't bother with evidence for that assertion.
Even if it is proven to be true beyond a shadow of a doubt, there's still no way in hell you could claim that "rich weirdo likes to shock visitors by showing them his art collection" leads to "a pizzeria where said weirdo's brother has held fundraisers in the past is the lynchpin in a pedophile child trafficking ring".

Is this your own writing? If so, you can no longer deny what you've been accused of in this thread, namely that you fully believe in this conspiracy. If not, that is a violation of rule 4.

It was an excerpt from the line that preceded it. I just forgot the quotation marks...

You seem to think that by not talking about it here it will somehow disappear. It won´t. There seem to be a very committed bunch of "autists" lifting every rock looking for "connections". And a lot of audience. You want to leave them to speculate away, in the safety of their skepticism-free forums? If you want to do something about it, help debunking it here. For example, about the eyes thing, there are some specific claims being made:

"First, it was found that the infants/toddlers Alefantis was posting on his instagram appear to have a strange anomaly in their iris, and that there seems to be a strong interest, among wealthy political figures, in the genetic feature and blood composition expressed by this anomaly. It was then discovered that Madeiline McCann had the same anomaly. Chillingly, it was then discovered that George Soros also has the same anomaly. The odds of this occurring between connected people are about one in one trillion compounded three times"

You can talk about it all you like. That's not the only thing you're doing. You're actively propagating this disgusting and damaging conspiracy theory.

Shame on you.

You lot have dismissed pizzagate
Yes. As anyone with a working brain has done.
without even reading the supposed "evidence", by the looks of it
Untrue.
but it goes on.
The desperate, the dumb and the deplorable. There are still idiots claiming Kennedy wasn't shot by Oswald, that the 11SEP attacks were carried out by US agents, that the Apollo landings were faked and similar rubbish.
CU nuts aren't interested in facts that don't support their narrative.

Anyone cares/has time to debunk all this? Check this out.
Why should we bother to indulge you?

<gibber snip

Craig, please. The artwork is weird. Traficking children is weird. What more do you need?

Except for the fact that no evidence has been presented for the "trafficking of children" part. Are we to assume that Cradle of Filth must be satanic cannibals because they're into "disturbing" art? (I'd link to a photo but I don't have enough posts yet to post links)

There is a difference between connecting the dots and connecting dots, coffee stains, flyspeck and watermarks.
In your rambling post above I see absolutely nothing untoward. People have avatars on the internet, people own property, and some people have physical abnormalities(however small). SO WHAT?
And a lot of audience. You want to leave them to speculate away, in the safety of their skepticism-free forums?
No, I want them to stop this politically driven insanity.
If you want to do something about it, help debunking it here. For example, about the eyes thing, there are some specific claims being made:
There's nothing here.

First, let's see the math on that last statement.
Second, you haven't demonstrated that these photos are untouched.
Third, You haven't demonstrated a "connection" between McCann, Soros and the Alefantis child so how can you state that they are connected and then state the probability of connected persons having this anomoly is in the trillions to one?
Fourth, EVEN IF they are "connected" and EVEN IF the odds are long, this begs the question, "SO WHAT!?" Why is this significant , and before you go on a wild speculative journey on that question, remember, skeptics want evidence, so be prepared to back up any claim as to the significance - IOW speculation is nothing more than fiction and fantasy!

Why am I reminded of this?

Because it's just as insane as the Comet Pizza thing.

At least with the Denver Airport silliness we could just sit back and laugh and not worry too much about it actually hurting people. Not so with Comet Pizza.

At least airports have 24hr security teams.

Put on your tin foil hat

Apparently some "fake news" have been fabricated, perhaps for some obscure pro-Trump or whatever agenda. Similarly, these conspiracy theories, pizzagate etc. may be similarly orchestrated*. One has to wonder whether so much effort of digging out "connections" and "evidence" of a conspiracy are just the product of a group of idle autistic loners or the product of a foreign intelligence agency intending to destabilize the US (since Trump has already won but the CT keeps going). Is it such a stretch to imagine Russia or China wanting to stir things up in the US, propagating and feeding these CT-s? These things are becoming mainstream, the danger is already there...

Is this a CT that I can get you interested in? I think it´s a real danger. A good segment of the population already doesn´t believe in mainstream media and think there is a large conspiracy to feed people lies and support an elite that has things to hide, either corruption or something more far-fetched... Society is being polarized. What would happen if this keeps growing and at some point, with the great resources that no doubt China or Russia has, they decide to create, this time undeniable evidence of whatever conspiracy they choose? Imagine, a video, created with state of the art special effects of Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump participating in a Satanic mass or any other thing that gets people to revolt... how many people would take guns and take to the streets? One already did, and pizzagate is not that believable anyway...

*I distinguish between fake news and conspiracy theories, even if they are being conflated, lately.

You need to adjust your sarcasm detector, mate.

<snip> Fact check everything <snip>

Several important links in this chain of breathless speculation are presented as imgur link pictures of someone else's interpretation of someone now a fourth party's out of context emails. I consider that about one baby-step of information quality above "I found evidence but can't find it again."

For specific instance, the claim that "Richard Windsor" is code name for someone else: I can't read the imgur text, nor can I prove or disprove the contents are not manipulated, nor can I verify the internal claim via independent means. But if I google "people named Richard Windsor" I get this Facebook result
https://www.facebook.com/richard.windsor.923
suggesting there are actual people using the name. Before accepting your "alias" claim I'd like to see other information about Richard Windsors and if any of them might have, say, applied for a job at Comet Pizza requiring a reference or are part of a band that might have asked to play the venue.

Just for starters.

We have this saying involving extraordinary claims requiring extraordinary evidence. A claim about an alias is a specific, testable claim for which no evidence has been provided. Because there are actual Richard Windsors on earth, this claim rises to the level of "extraordinary" in my opinion.

And every single piece of "weird, innit?" JAQing off requires independent validation. Unproven claims, no matter how many there are, do not constitute "evidence" just by bulk quantity.

The use of imgur and archived pages I think is because so many pages are being closed and their data lost or altered, if they don´t get somehow saved. Of course one can then say they could be faked and not valid evidence, which is fair point, but I don´t know how it can be avoided.

I have personally seen this happening, for example, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4169074/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl said "trapped in a state of surreality punctuated by bizarre visions, dimensional shifting and secret pizza." and now the words "secret pizza" are misteriously gone.

The plot summary of a Scandinavian arthouse movie on IMDB at one time contained the word 'pizza'.
