Pam Bondi: the most corrupt Attorney General of the USA ever_?

Jail or worse. We've seen how little this administration actually believes in due process of laws. Under statutes such as the USA PATRIOT Act, the executive has emergency power to abate terrorism with military force. The Global War on Terror has no definite end, meaning that worldwide counter-terrorism efforts continue as a military operation with ongoing Congressional approval. While previous administrations tried to show that terrorists could be effectively fought using the judiciary and criminal codes, that really never developed a suitable foothold.

Now consider that the Trump regime is deploying combat troops to cities in the U.S. known to be populated and led by Democrats. And now that practically anyone who opposes the regime's policies can be labeled "Antifa terrorists," you can see where this might be heading. The Trump regime is trying to provoke a violent conflict and thereby justify a more hardline approach to law enforcement. And so far, the Supreme Court is letting him. When they write the book on the death of democracy in the United States, I'm sure they will name Chief Justice John Roberts as its most enthusiastic gravedigger. And Pam Bondi is handing him the shovel.
I've no doubt this is a plan to arrest political foes, stifle dissent, and surpress the vote. Stephen Miller must be creaming in his jeans at how well his plan is going.
And now MAGA is consolidating media influence. Larry Ellison now owns TikTok and Paramount Global (including CBS). He is poised to acquire Warner Brothers Discovery, which owns CNN. Elon Musk owns Twitter. Sinclair Media still owns a surprising share of local TV stations and FCC Chair Brendan Carr may allow greater ownership percentages for large media companies.
And now Bari Weiss is "editor-in-chief" at CBS. You know, for balance. Wink-wink.

Just a sideline on the AG’s surname. Everybody knows about Australia’s Bondi Beach. It got its name when colonists arrived asked local indigenous what the beach was called. “Bondi” they responded, and it was so named. I have it on good authority that the indigenous, not overjoyed by the colonists give them the word for “idiot” or “dick head”.

Believe it or not. Don’t look it up on Wikipedia. Fake news…..

I despair greatly that someone somewhere is going to end some of the Trump admin higher-ups with bullets, in the vain hope that if the biggest turds are fished out of the punchbowl then everything will taste good again. Really, that just leaves lots of little turds that will take a long time to strain out, and nothing is going to fix it to be like before anyway. It would seem better to empty the whole thing out and start afresh now.

I still don't see how political assassinations can make things worse. The US has no shortage of them and continued.

Heck, nothing really happened after Trump was shot. And nothing happened as a result of Kirk that wouldn't have happened anyway.

Trumpers claim that US cities are burning down in urban warfare, and their media will make it a TV Reality. Facts don't matter, they only get in the way.

Historically, killing people of a regime, especially influential and wealthy backers is very effective for undermining a government: the only way to stop some people is to make them feel fear of very personal consequences.
And the Supreme Court has made it clear that those will never be legal ones.

Trump has never had anyone say "NO!" to him up front. It has always been court outcomes that go against him that he cannot avoid. And even then, his notoriety alone allows him to slide punishment with no consequences. Like any mafioso, he just buys off the outcome.

I would not like to see Trump shot dead. First, what a stinking mess for someone to clean up! Second, there's plenty of others I would wish gone first or instead. Third, I do want to see Trump spending the rest of his miserable life in jail and make it stick. He's committed enough crimes to warrant quite a few years inside. But even permanent confinement to an establishment for the criminally insane for the rest of his miserable life will suffice.

Sure, I want all these grifters will to destroy the US for their personal profit tried and thrown into prison, their ill-gotten gains confiscated, all very very publicly.
There must be consequences for trying to overthrow the democratic order.

But the SC and Congress have made it very clear that this will not happen - so where is the secular version of the Fear Of God going to come from?
Historically, it's Torches, Pitchforks & Guillotines-

What the hell is going on over there?

Attorney General Pam Bondi and other senior leadership of the Justice Department were caught off guard Thursday by news that the Trump-installed U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia had presented to a grand jury seeking an indictment of New York Attorney General Letitia James, multiple sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

While Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and other DOJ officials had expected Lindsey Halligan would move forward in seeking to indict James, against the recommendation of prosecutors in the office who had investigated for months the claims she committed mortgage fraud, they were not informed until after Halligan had already presented the case, sources said.

NBC (and others) are reporting the Truth Social post from September 20th displayed below was actually meant to be sent from trump to Pam Bondi as a private DM.
Trump was surprised to learn he had actually posted the message to his Truth Social account, the source said, adding that the president reacted by saying "Oh," and then tried to shrug it off. NBC News article link

People were reporting this when it first appeared on Truth Social. I don't know what's different about this reporting—perhaps that there is now confirmation from official sources?

That message will likely be front and center in the attempts to dismiss the Virginia cases (Comey and Letitia James). It's about as much evidence as there can ever hope to be in a case for vindictive prosecution.

I didn't recall seeing this previously. (There's SO MUCH day-to-day.) I think NBC News (and others) apparently are re-reporting it now because it has been verified by an anonymous trump administration official that it was supposed to be a private communication.

I wonder who the official is?

Wow, shocking to think you guys voted him in as your President. (Mind you, I dare say Elon Musk fixed the election.)

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!
WASHINGTON, Oct 7 (Reuters) - U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, appearing before a Senate panel on Tuesday, criticized Democratic lawmakers in personal terms as she faced pushback over the Justice Department's enforcement efforts in Democratic-led cities and investigations of President Donald Trump's critics.
Bondi, appearing before the Republican-controlled Senate Judiciary Committee, said the department under Trump was "returning to our core mission of fighting real crime," citing the surge in federal law enforcement activity in Washington, D.C., and Memphis, Tennessee.

Bondi said the Justice Department was ending the "weaponization of justice" even as several political adversaries of Trump face federal investigations and prosecutions. The attorney general parried questions from Democratic lawmakers about her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, a bribery probe into Trump border czar Tom Homan and the case against former FBI Director James Comey by criticizing her questioners in partisan terms unusual for the nation's top law enforcement officer.
Pressed on the Justice Department's reversal on releasing files on sex trafficking investigations into Epstein, a one-time friend of Trump, Bondi accused Democratic senators of accepting campaign donations from an Epstein associate.
