There are huge communities of Estonian and Ukranians who are direct descendants of Swedish tribes. Some still speak a version of Swedish. The Rus are directly related to Swedes.

I wonder what Arcade thinks of the Sami (Laplanders,though that term is outdated) who don't seem to fit in his "visual" definition of a "True Swede",but have been in Northern Sweden and Finland like forever?

Though as I understood it, even being outdated and sometimes considered derogatory when refering to the Sami people, Laplander in Finland actually means the non-Sami Finnish speaking peoples living in the Lapland region of Finland. Just to add to the confusion

More curious to me, how does Arcade feel about the large number of Finns, especially those of Swedish-Finn mixed ancestory? How about the Jewish people that immigrated in large numbers during the WWII era? What about people who display physical characteristics not common to the Swedish ethnicity but whose parents and other ancestors do not have?

I was going to start a point about how Lionking had missed something very important in the analysis of the statistics on the first page, and thus completely missed the point in entire... but then I realized I was posting on the failboat.

No seriously, think about it. They only go by gang ethnic affiliation, so 8%/32% is most probably the approximate ratio of 'white supremest' (all white) gangs to 'black power' (all black) gangs.

Which... isn't actually any sort of surprise.

You can't pinpoint a European, or a Brit by a set of physical characteristics anymore than you can pinpoint a Swede in that manner.

Cut your condescending tone, I am well aware that there are Ethnic diaspora in Estonia, whatever that has to do with Estonians and Ukrainians being ethnically Swedish.
You also seem to overestimate the effect the Varangians has on modern Eastern Europe.

Yes, even though i am certain that if you would compare the genetic distance between "white Americans" and Europeans the genetic distance would probably be around zero.

Around 4 generations sounds ok, but i would still consider him an ethnic German depending who his father/mother were.

Okay I will explain: We Swedes are a white people and for me too think that you are Swedish you need to generally look like we do. It's as simple as that.

By this definition I'm a Swede.

Yea... Time for a recollection of the course:

You wanted to score some points against multiculturalism.
You had some vague statistics on crime linked to race.
The Swedes (of that country near Norway) are a race.
You decide who is Swedish, by looking at a person or their parents.

Culture, Race and Nationality nicely mixed up as if they are interchangeble concepts. Desire for purity, through subjectivism. End of thread. Original in it's honesty, perhaps.
