Merged Missing children, fugitive parents, and drive-by shootings/Lori Vallow in court.

Yes, the same amount of evidence that there is for the parents conditioning him not to talk after his beloved sister is murdered by them.

They're Mormons. Maybe they don't follow the middle-of-the-road flavor, but their beliefs are rooted in that tradition.

So...there's already a number of things Mormons don't talk about, like the temple rites, secret names, various handshakes, and magic underwear. They say these things are "sacred, not secret" and they have successfully used that mantra to keep a lot of people quiet about all of them.

Sorry; but I just don't think it would be too difficult to convince a little boy with autism to keep quiet about a family member being walked off into the woods by Uncle Alex. "She's just fine; she'll live with the elves for a while and you'll see her again in a few months."

He's seven years old. Old enough to suspect there's no Santa Claus, but young enough to keep writing lists, leaving out cookies and trying to stay awake all night.

Which is probably why he's missing too, now. The older he would get the more questions and doubts, and the more likely he would eventually start talking.

Either way, I hope they are found. I hope the grandparents get some relief, I hope the parents are held accountable for whatever happened, and I hope you and I can resolve who is right. I'm pretty sure the whole story is gonna continue to be interesting as it unfolds.

Is there some reason they can't start torturing Lori to find out where the kids are? You know, like, waterboard Lori and after each dunking ask her "are they safe?" Like with all the Covid-19 threads, I'm getting tired of seeing this thread at the top of the list but nothing's happening!!

I'm drawing up my short list of post apocalyptic targets as we speak. Lori's on it. Few forumites. Brave New World coming. Think I'll go with ThermalButcher for my hellscape moniker.

We're waiting until May, COVID-19 delays notwithstanding. Lori and/or Chad and/or the people that have claimed to have been 'splained to by the former two are free to expedite this mess at any time.

I already mentioned waterboarding her way upthread. But you don't ask her if they are safe as that is a wasted question. You ask her where they are at. If you don't reach the kids within a few hours you waterboard again while explaining that you need more info because they aren't there. It would only take two sessions at most before she sends you directly to them - alive or dead.

Nobody gets through waterboarding having it their way.

I almost agree with this, because they might be alive and desperately need someone to find them, soon.

Are you having flashbacks to "the marathon man" or what?

She's sitting in jail, right?

Once again, I contend, all she would have to do is to produce the kids and she'd be free

Have her lawyer call the judge and say she has info on the kids.

There'd be a hearing on Monday. She'd be free on Tuesday.
The fact she hasn't tells me the kids are dead.

I think at this point the likelihood of them being dead vastly outweighs the likelihood of any scenario where they are alive, be it mundane or fantastical. I would even call the notion that they are alive at this point an extraordinary claim.

And that assessment holds even if they're found alive. Lori could spill the beans tomorrow, revealing that they actually are alive and living with some random yet-unknown friend, and news cameras could interview the children and everything, and nobody who has suspected the worst would have to eat any crow because it is utterly ridiculous for that to be the case and yet for Lori AND whoever the children were with to have not produced them for the courts so far; no reasonable individual could be expected to hold out for such a development.

Disturbing article.

This case seems to have been over-shadowed, I believe, by virus news. This morning, when I came across this, I realized it has been a few days since I had heard anything.

However. After reading it earlier, I lost any hope that the children are alive. It was a mental thug for me. Now, I want to know where their remains are, how they were disposed of. I would like to know if the kids were aware their parent was killing them, or if she was merciful in how they were killed. Murdered, I meant, in how their parent murdered them.

This case - this woman - spikes my anxiety/aggravation level.

Help me understand...

We have photographic evidence that JJ and Tylee were in Yellowstone, is that right?

What form of evidence do we have that Tylee did not leave Yellowstone?

No positive evidence that I am aware of to indicate that she did not leave, only a lack of evidence of her whereabouts afterward.

In other news, Lori's attorney Mark Means filed a motion Tuesday for another bond hearing "in light of new evidence." As of Wednesday no date had been set.

New (alleged) evidence has surfaced indicating that Lori had purchased the ring for her wedding with Chad on 2 October, 17 days before Tammy's death as previously noted, and searched for wedding dresses the next day.

ETA: Oh, and the ring was made with malachite.

Don't panic just yet. That was from Melanie only, who may not be the most reliable of witnesses on her best day.

Oh. I thought I had read here that there is some form of visual evidence that she wasn't inside the vehicle when they drove out of Yellowstone. I guess I didn't read that.

You did read it, but it was pure speculation on my part, based on little more than a hunch from reading a report that Yellowstone surveillance video was submitted as evidence.
