Reform are considering asking Ofcom to investigate last night's debate as apparently, while Farage easily won, the audience was clearly biased and stacked against him and the way the camera cut to the audience shaking their heads when he was speaking was a deliberate attempt to undermine him.

Reform are also considered asking Ofcom to investigate Have I Got News for You over 'bias' after what they call a 'rant' by Ian Hislop against Farage without any opposing view.

Count Binface is standing against Rishi in Richmond.

He says

"Rishi Sunak, you shirked D-Day, but you won’t be able to avoid B-Day. Time to take out the trash. It’s on."

Even more than the national chances, I wonder what it does for his personal chances of being elected as an MP, given the local importance of Catterick Barracks.

Being the home of the Green Howards, having RAF Catterick and...and...

FFS, know your constituency, you great steaming pillock!

Mordaunt clearly didn't help the cause last night by calling the decision to leave the D-Day commemoration wrong, rather than going with something along the lines of 'the PM has already recognized that was an error and apologized'. Feels like a deliberate effort to undermine Sunak. I also notice that a number of the newspapers that ignored the story yesterday have it on the front pages today.
As for their latest stamp duty wheeze, its both hopelessly inadequate given that many people looking to get on the property ladder can barely afford to rent never mind get a mortgage and another of those policies that if it is such a great idea why wasn't it put in place before the election was called?

In the "That doesn't make any sense"-category, we now find Rish!'s excuse for not attending the international leaders' D-day event. He told Sky News that it had always been the plan to leave that bit to David Cameron, also before he called the general election, which makes even less sense, as any leader would be scrambling to join in such a photo op.

It makes perfect sense to me. The whole thing is completely explained by assuming that Sunk and/or his advisors are utterly incompetent.

Good to know they know nothing about how the country is actually run.

If it's the BBC they first have to complain to the BBC, only if they are unhappy with the BBC's response to the complaint can they go to Ofcom.

Remember when they complained about the BBC holding a straw poll in front of a mosque?

It actually looks as though he initially intended to completely sub the event even before he decided to call the election and it was a compromise with Macron that he attended at all. Which is mindbogglingly bad optics.

I'm old enough to (vaguely) remember Michael Foot getting slammed for wearing a coat on Remembrance Sunday

Yup,

What an utter fool
Sunak’s mea culpa, however, was caveated. During a broadcast interview he said the decision not to attend the event with other world leaders had been made “weeks ago”. He had, he said, “fully participated in all the British events with the British veterans”.

His answer was revealing in and of itself. Shortly before Sunak called the general election he was presented with an itinerary by officials, with the international leaders’ event marked as “optional”. Sunak and his aides decided he should not attend in part because it was the “French event” and was therefore considered less significant.

Apparently the Tories have suspended social media campaigning because "there is no money"
