West Houston Trump-themed burger joint replaced by pizza spot​

There's a new restaurant at the location where Trump Burger used to be open along Chimney Rock in the Galleria area.

HOUSTON — A west Houston burger joint that had been at the center of some recent legal battles has been replaced.

Trump Burger, which was open along Chimney Rock Road just north of the Southwest Freeway for about five months, has been replaced by Empire Pizza. New signage was spotted on the structure on Monday. It's unclear if the pizza restaurant is open to the public.

Last month, KHOU 11 News reported that Trump Burger had closed, and the Houston Business Journal said it made multiple phone calls to the restaurant's listed phone number that went unanswered.

Trump Burger gained some notoriety due to its theme. It paid homage to President Donald Trump with memorabilia on the walls and doors, plus "Trump" stamped on the burgers themselves.

Earlier this year, news broke that the restaurant owner, Roland Beainy, was facing deportation. Brainy, a 28-year-old Lebanese immigrant, was supposed to leave the country in February 2024. According to United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, he initially entered the U.S. in 2019, but he overstayed his visa. ICE officials said Beainy didn't have any immigration benefits that would prevent him from being arrested or removed from the country.

He never paid his contractors when he was a 'businessman', and his government is flat broke and not paying out any of its obligations either....

That was almost a given that they would never get paid....

If it makes you feel any better, they have taken their website off line (probably to avoid the considerable backlash that is resulting from their involvement.) Same with several other companies that are involved with the project.

Remember, according to Trump the ballroom is supposed to be built by private funds. Not sure what type of control the federal government would have over payments

When is he going to tell everyone that in his opinion the funds were donated to him personally, so if Uncle Sam wants to use his ballroom they can rent it for a suitable fee?

It's a government building, being built on federal property, to be used for government purposes. Trump doesn't own any of that.

Knowing Trump's usual MO, now that the East Wing is a pile of rubble and the demolition contractor is not being paid, it will stay a pile of rubble, and nothing will get built until someone else pays that bill for him. So I would not be surprised if it was still a pile of rubble in a few years time when they finally get turfed out. I give the odds of this Big Beautiful Ballroom being constructed at all as 50/50 right about now.

Ah, there's the real reason for her change of (something like a) heart...cowardice. Somebody who was also a brash, lying, fascist, loud-mouthed ◊◊◊◊-stirrer got actually shot dead, and she is scared she may become the next target.

Easy solution: become a non-target by not being a brash, lying, fascist, loud-mouthed ◊◊◊◊-stirrer any more.

I feel so much Schadenfreude from her being targeted by the same monster she, if not helped create then definitely fed. Something something leopards.
