Dylan Avery

If he's worried about a backlash from the fan boys hanging from hit nutsack if he was to come out and confess it was all just one big fabrication, he doesn't need to worry much, as most of them are so delusional they'll just believe 'they' got to him and he's being silenced.

He tries to be detatched and LIHOP-lite at first, but then veers into la-la-land with stuff about a duplicate plane and incredulity about the Shanksville site before realising he's sounding like a nut again.

Towards the end he laments that Loose Change ruined his chances at becoming a major filmmaker. He gets no offers at all to make films, and no funding for his own projects.

Excellent idea; if Dylan was as good at analyzing the intellectual bankrupt truth movement, as he was making up crazy sounding claptrap against the man tripe on 911, he would be famous.

That would require Avery to have gained some perspective on his time with the Truthers, which doesn't seem to have happened. In fact, the whole experience seems not to have taught him anything, about filmmaking or about life.

Indeed. The only reason I ever came across the 9/11 Truthers in the first place, was because of Virgin Atlantic Airways' monumental stupidity in announcing that Loose Change would be made available in their IFE video library. The aviation forum I frequented then and now were up in arms with outrage and someone posted a link to Loose Change Guide.

Since then, it really has gone downhill.

The most likely explanation is that the government got to him somehow. The government can make someone an offer he can't refuse. He has family; he might be afraid someone in his family will have an "Accident" if he doesn't play ball.

Prediction: Someday (not anytime soon, clearly, but someday), you'll still mistrust the government (not that there's anything wrong with that) but you'll finally realize you were wrong about 9/11 and what's more, you'll acknowledge your mistake. The then current crop of Truthers (who are as I write this only toddlers with burgeoning daddy issues) will say that the most likely explanation for your supposed conversion is that you were gotten to by the government, replaced by a double or something equally absurd. The full, poignant irony of the situation will be completely lost on you. And I don't think that's even the real reason. I think the Loose Change movies simply betray Dylan Avery's lack of talent.

All he did was splice together footage -- mostly other people's -- with bad narration and a worse storyline. The last version of LC shows no technical improvement from the first one. Any decent internet video series will show more complex shots, tighter writing, etc., over time as the creators get comfortable with the medium. Not Loose Change. It was amateurish at the beginning and amateurish at the end.

Besides, being a Truther is hardly an obstacle to a Hollywood career. Rosie O'Donnell, Ed Asner, Daniel Sunjata, and of course Charlie Sheen are still all getting work. That Dylan Avery couldn't leverage his Hollywood connections and Internet buzz into one measly screen credit says it all.

Actually, Loose Change was probably the best thing that ever happened to him by far. Here's this otherwise nobody who for a brief time got a lot of attention all out of proportion to his skills, and he got to hang around with B-list celebs like Charlie and Rosie until they got distracted by some other nonsense of the moment. All thanks to Loose Change. Really, who of us would have ever heard of Dylan Avery except for that "film"? He should be thankful, not blaming it for his subsequent one-hit wonderhood.

Actually, people who are delusional quite often just get crazier. Like David Shayler. Alex Jones said he was deep disinfo. Shayler actually just started eating magic mushrooms and smoking dope, plus the stress triggering a mental illness.

But the cognitive dissonance prevents you from seeing the correlation between mental illness and conspiracies...

People like Avery are not immune from the social stress of being mocked and debunked by the majority of people
