I wonder if you'll get the same phenomena that we have here, right wingers issuing more and more fevered warnings about how the terrible mayor is going to subject everyone to sharia law, while living and working in.. Dubai..

The statements from these folks doesn't really say much beyond glazing Mamdani and saying how great it is that it runs against Trump's policies. At the very least, none of them had anything to say regarding promises for rent freezes, free transit, and government operated grocery stores, or the replacement of police with social workers... much less how it is relatable to their own internal affairs. Not sure how this supports your contention.

Either way, the best way for the voters to FAFO is to give them what they want. Since he is - after all - already elected. Let's see how his democratic socialist policies work out in practice. His tax policies are contingent on state cooperation, but his local policies on police, Sanctuary city policy, will just have to play out.

I'd say he's trying to quietly back away from cutting off funding to NYC and NJ that has made him unpopular to the point of destroying any GOP hopes there.
