Consciousness question

Yes, you drew several corrolations. However, that still means nothing. I have had dreams of Wonderland but I am not about to claim I am Alice incarnate, nor am I going to claim that that is somehow evidence of other Worlds beyond our universe.
Sure.

Nothing wrong with chasing nymphs through the woods, I guess.
Yeah, it's funny, just about the time I thought I had her, she had vanished. :D Oh, I forgot to mention, this was about the time that my whole world came crashing down around my ears. I also likened it more in terms of a relationship with Apollo, because The Advent of Dionysus had yet to be established. This is where it all began though. In fact by some accounts, Daphne is purportedly whisked off to Crete, after her encounter with Apollo here, to become Pasiphae, the mother of Ariadne who, was the wife and beloved of Dionysus. This is why it all begins with Daphne, with respect to the fourteen women's names.

Well, if you had caught her, you wouldn't ever had really known her until you met her in court.

Why would that matter? Suppose I think it is a first, and you think it is a 50th. So what? If it is evidence, that is what matters.

Tell us what makes your particular front-seat dreams any different from another person's hallucinations? Is it the fact that they happened to you?
And if my mind were a portal to another dimension, and I had the capacity to view other entities/spirits that existed there, what would you make of that? How would I be able to prove it to you? There's no doubt to me that this is what I'm looking at but, unless it involved some form of clairvoyance (most of the time it doesn't), how would I be able to prove something that doesn't exist outside of having my eyes closed?

A child talking about santa couldnt say it better! ;)

Maybe there really are monsters from the id? Or, don't you believe it's possible to drive people crazy? Why is it that the two seem to be commonly associated with each other?

And if these were psychotic delusions, and you have not been taking your meds, what would you make of that?

It is completely consistent with everything you have said, and yet does not require us to break the laws of time and space. Moreover, it is consistent with your autobiographical history. I can see why you prefer your belief, but there is no reason whatsoever to think it is true. Not only could you not prove it to me; you cannot even prove it to yourself. You know you are wrong; that is why you avoid the information we offer to you. Only by denying reality can you cling to this flimsy belief.

Of course the things I speak of have been reported since time immemorial. So I guess I shouldn't be made to feel all alone on the matter.
Yes, I agree, and I could offer you the titles of several histories of mental illness. It is a fascinating topic.

Here's a good book, called The Presence of Spirits in Madness. I'm surprised they're charging 12 bucks for it though, because I only paid 50 cents for it, albeit a long time ago.
All the possible books you could have found, and you choose yet another Swedenborgian.

You overpaid.

ETA: copywrite 1972? In a field like this, this book is ancient history.

And if I plucked out my eyes or, took some toxic substance to induce blindness, what would you think about that? Obviously we can change the way we perceive and see things by means of chemicals. Why should it be any different with the way the mind works? In fact you're only dealing with the symptoms at this point, and not the cause. Which, is why it usually involves a considerable amount of psychological counseling as well, to get past these demons in your mind. The problem is, our counselors don't understand this. So, what do they do but prescribe more drugs. I was told that after the experience I had gone through, that most people don't fully recover, and are bound to taking these drugs for rest of their lives ... not to mention become a dependent of the state.

Good to see you agree. There is no way, obviously, that you can be as sure as you claim to be that your visions are not the result of a chemical imbalance. Which is, of course, by far the more parsimonious explanation.

There may be hope for you yet.
