The title of the book is The Advent of Dionysus, and my first name which, is Dennis, comes from Dionysus. My mother had also succumbed to Hades in my early youth, and we began to explore the heights and depths of this after moving to the Wine Country in 1972. Needless to say I had become very unhappy and withdrawn as a teenager (my late teens), and it took me the next 15-20 years to examine what this was all about. The height of which occurred between the dates of March 2nd and March 4th in 1987 (after returning to live with my mother) which, strangely enough, coincides with this festival held in Dionysus' honor. Which, if it hadn't happened, there would be no other correlations, hence no book.
Obviously one had to be standing in my shoes to fully appreciate what this is all about, but then again that's the whole point now isn't it? I have no intention of changing what I've written any time soon.
I've read that Caligula suffered in the same way. Only he was Zeus; among others.
