Can you beat Trump? Pick the WORST people for his cabinet positions you can think of!

It's hard to pick worse that what Trump has done, even fictional characters aren't as bad. Kash Patel?! A felon, blackmailer who pled guilty and Trump pardoned as FBI director?!

I am starting to get a vibe that there are two "camps" in the Trumposphere: a couple of really smart people working in the background to consolidate their own power as puppetmasters, and the noisy, stupid, insane, irresponsible, jail-bound remainder - the useful idiots.

In choosing cabinet picks, the puppet masters are using a bait-and-switch tactic: offer up the most inappropriate and hilariously bad selections from the useful idiots, allow them to be knocked back by an incredulous Senate, and replace them with their actual choices from their own clique who will be accepted with much relief. This also sidelines the idiots and frank criminals who thought they were being recognised for how great and loyal they are, thinning the herd so to speak. Gaetz has been the first "victim" of this. I am predicting a lot more to come. Looking at you, Kash!

Incidentally, Trump himself is probably in the insanity group, being "advised" by the puppetmasters to do what they say. As soon as Disaster Don goes irretrievably insane, he will be (legally) dumped too. 25th amendment probably.

KASH PATEL????
Why not appoint El Chapo to head the DEA? Martha Stewart to head the IRS?
Yeah, he probably won't get confirmed but may get around it for awhile with a recess appointment.

I still think he's putting up these nominations as a litmus test about which congressional members he can count on going forward.

I think that's too subtle for him. I think he's picking these awful people because everybody he knows is a charlatan celebrity crook. Trump isn't filling a cabinet, he's casting his reality TV show. The only criteria are 1) they should be famous (read "notorious", Trump doesn't distinguish between those two things) and 2) they should be loyal to Trump (or at least he should imagine they are). Not only does competence or subject knowledge not matter, it's points against: if any of them is too good at the job they'll make Trump look bad by comparison because even after having been president once, Trump still has no idea how to the do the job.

I still think that my pick of T****y for Treasury Secretary is worse than anybody he'd pick.
Practically speaking, Disaster Don in that position would essentially do nothing. He would be like a donkey with a hammer - doesn't know what it is, where he got it nor how to use it. A worse pick would be someone who DOES know about Treasury and is scruple-free and of evil intent.

Who would that be and would you be betting against him being finally chosen ? ;)

Trump's picks are so outrageous that, if he were anyone else, I'd suspect he's simply nominating them as payback for something, but knowing they'll never get confirmed. But, as I said, if he were anyone else...

Except my post and yours aren't exactly in agreement. I do think Trump is serious in his picks because the only criterion for his picks are that they are loyal to him personally and will do whatever they are told.
I wonder if he also prefers billionaires so he can borrow money from them when he needs to.

Fixed that for you, I think. The loyalty may run only skin deep, but Trump is pretty gullible.
