Is there something in the water lately? If a kid would die exposed to this stuff you know damn right well a gerbil would or a cat or a dog or a fish. So do the damn experiment and stop yanking the weiner.

Short of documented dead critters I dub this discussion BS.

My Challenge: I stand by the challenge. In a scenario where one party (The NRPB) is saying something is safe to expose infants to, and another party (myself) says it is a life threatening hazard to these infants, who is the guilty party? The NRPB is letting these infants become exposed to high E-fields all the time, not me.

So why not use an animal subject? Or a consenting adult?

Another million dollar winner folks, step right up.

Clearly paranormal. Geni is attuned to my vibrations. This is as good a proof as Lufi, for example, accepts for a variety of things.

I could recommend some good therapists to help you over your problems if you like.

FYI, Lil'Bill uses terms like 'credophile', oblivious as to what that makes him. lol!

It got appealed to me, and I have to confess, I don't see where anything other than foolish joking around has occured. Roger, I wouldn't take offense, and I wouldn't take the joking seriously. But then, maybe there's a cultural jab in there we Americans don't get. At any rate, cultural jabs aren't against the rules, although we would like civil discourse.
Roger, why don't you continue with your discussion and ignore the "chatter".

Roger, don't bother to play their 'game'. Linda told me to "chill out" when someone here called me a 'child molestor', presumably as part of their educational, rational, critical thought process.

Who called you a "child molestor"? Evidence, please?

Roger. Your site raises some important issues. Are you aware of Dr Puhariach(sp?)'s anti ELF work, particularly a 'watch', which I believe is on sale now.

Your challenge makes a serious point. Trouble is, you could actualy get some nut who would want to put a child at risk like that. Kudos to not using animals though.

What the hell does that mean?
So what does one use, a watermelon?

Do you believe in the power of prayer? If not, why not? Not very good at responding to direct questions, are you?

BTW, I began calling rogbot rogbot after he idiotically reponded to my post with links to pictures of birds and animals perched on power lines. His knee-jerk, bot-like reply? "Did these studies also take into account the fact that real estate that lies under power lines tends to be lower-cost, available to lower-income families?" They were pictures of birds, owls and squirrels perched on power lines. I invite you to go back and read that pivotal exchange to understand why I will forevermore refer to him as rogbot.
I admit that Mr. Coghill's replies are equally offensive to a common person's( like me)intelligence. This is noted and I admit that it makes me tad angry because the more I read what Mr. Coghill posts the more I realize that he is a clever person and he cannot possibly believe those things. This touch of Atlantis that I discovered last night in his site made me wonder if he has a target group he wishes to appeal to.

To cleopatra: I was distressed to read that you found any of my remarks offensive. Could you please tell me which ones? Re the Atlantis story, I hope you might take into account that I was an Open Scholar in Classics at Cambridge University, and read the Plato dialogue with some care. For those not familiar with this monitory legend, Plato is the only source of the Atlantis story. I included it in my website because, as many archeologists agree, it has a number of strong claims to be accurate. I placed the site at Faro in the Algarve region of the Lusitanian peninsula, and recognised that the abundance of zinc and copper in that region might conceivably been instrumental in allowing man to discover a crude form of electricity, well before the beginning of historic times. Look, we have come from the cart horse to the manned space vehicle in less than 200 years out of man's 3 million years of existence. Why should not there have occurred some other 200 year period of advanced technology during that millions of years of time? But this is a digression from my main these of bioelectromagnetics. If you want to debate this issue perhaps we should start a new separate thread? Frankly I would rather not at this time since I cannot do justice to both with the limited time available to me. If Cleopatra will buy me lunch I would be happy to take her through the entire literature. She is probably one of the few in this thread would could read the original Greek. For example, the accepted word in ancient Greek for island is "nesos". But at that time the Greeks used it indiscriminately for peninsula (a Latin word): there is no word for peninsula in Greek, so for example the Chersonnese is the "island" of Cherson, but it is of course a peninsula. Similarly the Peloponnese , also a peninsula, is the "island" of Pelops. It makes sense then for Plato to call the Lusitanian peninsula, where Faro is situated, a "nesos", and to refer to the "island" of Atlantis. But as I say, this is a complicated story, and would need much exposition and a good understanding of ancient Greek.

Cleopatra: Do you have a soft spot for polite and eloquent males? (Fine with me, I'm one of them, if I want to ;)). Mr. Coghill is a woowoo by any definition. except that he might be a fraud, meaning that he knows he is cheating, but is doing it for money. If you can't see the signs, say so, and I'll list them for you.

I like lists. Let's see it.

Several have asked, why not use a mammal instead of an infant? Small mammals and large alike have already been placed under powerlines to see if there are any adverse effects. Hans Arne Hanssen did this with rabbits in the early 1980s, and reported disturbing damage to the rabbits' purkinje cells (in their brains). Experiments with cattle showed lowered milk yields and immunological deficits (Stormshak, Lee et al.) A meta analysis (Morris, Kimball et al, 1989) reported that in 40 animal experiments from six separate labs there was an overall adverse effect on the white blood cells, principally lymphocytes. These are just a few studies that spring to mind immediately, but there are plenty more, even back in the 1970s. Taken together, they support the view that the electric component is an adverse bio-effector. The former Russia sets an exposure limit of 500 V/m in rural environments for this reason, compared with 12,000 (now reduced to 5,000 in the last few weeks) V/m by the NRPB.

Mr. Coghill as you might have noticed I have a great respect for other people's claims and I have endless resources of patience when it comes to questions that should be answered. I can wait for ages. BUT I don't like it when people attempt to underestimate my intelligence.

I have not studied physics but I am trained in reading reports on scientific issues that have to do with forensic medicine mostly. You have not replied to simple questions regarding your challenge and from your writings I have concluded that you invest on other people's fear.

I will be ready to admit that I am wrong and I will apologize humbly about my mistake if you reply to Bill Hoyt's questions. You avoid to reply to them and I find it disturbing and offensive for my intelligence ( I speak for myself but I am sure that many fellow posters share those feelings).

Re the Atlantis story, I hope you might take into account that I was an Open Scholar in Classics, and read the Plato dialogue with some care.
I happen to have studied the Classics as well and I happen to believe that studying the Classics is like taking advanced courses in critical thinking. I confess that I feel surpized that you see the platonic allegory as a prime historical source.
But this is a digression from my main these of bioelectromagnetics. If you want to debate this issue perhaps we should start a new separate thread? I think that I have posted before a number of threads from this very forum where we discuss the issue.

I never refuse an invitation to lunch even when I have to pay the bill especially when somebody promises me to lecture me on Plato, the topic of my PhD thesis. :)

My dear Mr Larsen, why cannot you admit your error like a gentleman, instead of living up to the middle letters of your name? You see, I too can be offensive if I want to but it doesn't make for good science. So why don't we just concentrate on the science and leave out these childish expressions like woo and bot?

Att:Mr. Coghill.

We have a couple of threads about that. Maybe you want to post your comments there. I confess that I find disappointing the fact that a classicist cannot see what Plato meant with Atlantis.

Anyway. These are the threads I am talking about

OK, if you have read the Critias and the Timaeus you will already have some idea what I am talking about. Olbie, Kore, genoio! I am happy to buy you lunch anytime. I am in Cambridge later this month at a college dinner if that is anywhere near you.

Oh yes I do have such a soft spot by all means but as you might have noticed I am strongly influenced by the Greek Philosophy. "Undressing" somebody of his claims and removing them "petal by petal" is my favorite hobby . I noticed how Mr.Coghill dodges the issues and I enjoyed how he attempts to disassociate himself from the PhoneShield crystal I just HOPE he honors us with a discussion about Atlantis :)

Our unique method of superposition can deliver fields from 450 to 2450 gauss at the pole face, just in the therapeutic range. These magnets are a neodymium, boron iron mix, and are extremely difficult to degauss. In fact we guarantee them for 30 years in normal use, and they carry a 60 day money back guarantee: you simply cannot lose in trying them for aches sprains and muscular pain, but for a complete list of its many uses see our book, The Book of Magnet Healing listed in the catalogue.

Various statements:

ENDOGENOUS FIELDS.

your body's natural electric fields protect you against disease by improving the viability of your white blood cells! Look after your aura!

About what turns out to be normal neodyne magnets:

We have developed specially designed Supermagnets made not of iron but of rare earth metals, upto 8000 times more powerful than the Earth’s geomagnetic field.

SuperMagnets differ from all others in that their magnetic field strengths can be easily altered by the user according to the required application. <=This statement is a bald-faced lie.

Our laboratory has developed the use of static magnets as a therapy for lower back pain and myalgias, with spectacular success: sometimes relief comes in minutes, even for longstanding sufferers, without side effects. Often the pain never returns after treatment.
