I should point out that while Edge is unquestionably a unique person, he is actually one of the more coherent applicants.

I still cant figure out what all the stalling and changing of filler materials is about.

Whilst checking into dowsing, I found that they actually use the ideomotor response in their theories of how it works.
They say that (similar to remote viewing) there is a "matrix" and your mind picks up on the actual material you are looking for, then the ideomotor response kicks in.
Under this theory, if gold were covered in metallic sand, it shouldn't make a difference to the test results !

Side note here: To my knowledge, and Randi may have been speaking with him (but if so, I wasn't told about it) Mr. Katcher's application was denied as, from our perspective, it was not paranormal and even if it was, was completely untestable.
