Cont: 2024 Election Thread part 3

It all comes down to which swing state counties have or haven't been tallied yet. Barring a wild result, none of the non-swing states matter (thanks Electoral College! /s)

---

In odd news, Decision Desk called VA for Harris waaaay early. I know nothing of VA voting patterns, so I wonder if they'll have to eat crow.

This is very bad. Its going to take a pretty big comeback for Harris to win this. She's underperforming Biden's 2020 results in many counties across the northern swing states.

PA still in play but early results in WI and MI not looking favourable for her.

Tonight, of all nights,I'd like to be seeing timely reports. But my cable and internet has been down since 5:30. Fortunately I went out for dinner so I didn't miss those couple hours.
But now, even though there are a lot of things I'd rather be doing than seeing the news, there's no home access. I'd say that's, in a word, suspicious... I still have mobile access so I can live with it for a bit.
I am horrified to see all the red so far.

Can't even begin to imagine what the next four years will be like if he really wins. Noe just for America, but for the world.

Was his previous term really that hellish? Seemed pretty normal to me. I was actually hugely let down he didn't go crazy. Hoping he does this time, but know he won't.

Well I was this nervous in 2016 when Trump was leading in the early battleground states. A lot of them are over 85% counted.

Also like 2016 and 2020, the outstanding votes are coming in from blue areas that could tip the state.

I think the longer it takes to count votes, the more Trump is gonna argue fraud. I'd surmise that it will end up being a state or two within the battlegrounds that could decide it, and a lot of lawsuits

Also nervous that if eventually goes to SCOTUS, he might have at least 5 justices on his side. In addition to potential political violence.

The world is going to get a lot more dangerous if the Orange One wins, and it's looking bad.

Ukraine will lose US support, and Putin may have his way there and Israel will get a blank check to do whatever they want in Palestine. Putin will start looking for the next steps in his plans of conquest of small neighbors. Internally, the US will become less democratic, with republicans weakening all things that protect the right to vote. Any advance on dealing with climate change will be pushed back, at least four years, likely longer. The consequences will be serious, and long lasting.

The votes in PA are now 70% counted. The rural counties are 98% counted, so Trump is not getting any more there. Some blue counties have only 50% votes counted, so Harris is still adding votes in all those. Chester county for example. The most urban county in PA Harris has 64% of the vote. There 64% of vote is counted. I think she can win by 0.5-1%.

Not time for fraud yet. First Trump has to declare that he won. He has not said that yet. A bit odd.
