Religious figures reincarnated (Split from: Pope responds question from atheist)

I'm going out on a limb to say that since no one else has ever been able to support claims about reincarnation (or any other supernatural phenomena), then you haven't, either.

If I'm wrong, I'll be the first to apologize. Don't think I am, though.

The Dalai Lama claims to have reincarnated 14 consecutive times. For your information, he is a Nobel Peace prize winner.

Please explain how me (for instance) being reincarnated from a past life is different from just a different person dying and then me being born. And how me being reincarnated into a future life is different from just me dying and then someone else being born.

Either way, I have no memories (and therefore, no benefit of learning or experience) from any past life, no advance knowledge of any future one, and no reason to expect that my present life experiences and memories will be preserved except by what I write, make, or otherwise do in the material world to preserve them.

So, what's the difference? Even if reincarnation exists, what does it matter?

Respectfully,
Myriad

I can only speak for myself, but I was born with latent memories I could not explain until I worked out my own past lives. One does not recall everything, only stuff that made a major inprint at the time

Oh excellent, you're still here. I thought you flounced.

I linked to your book earlier so that people could get a feel for your ideas. I read the synopsis and the selected quotes. Would you like to expound on some of the quotes?

Personally, I'm particularly interested in a couple of them:

1. How your book will spell the end of the papacy. (Attributed to Pope John XXIII in the astral, (astral sister of Jesus) Chapter 23.) Your book is (partially) available, yet the new pope seems to be quite the crowd-pleaser. When will the papacy end?

2. How the arms race is going to end life as happened on Mars. (Attributed to The Creator, Chapter 36) This is fascinating. Does this mean that life was eradicated on Mars due to advanced weaponry?

No doubt others would like to hear your views on other things as well.

Since you are so knowledgeable about the copyright process, I wish you had gone to the trouble of explaining it fully, like submitting two copies of your work to the copyright office and receive your certificate. Yes, your work is automatically copyrighted, but ultimately you have to be able to prove it is your work.
Hopefully next time you look a little harder before you attack someone.

In your previous post, you said you "obtained" copyright [ by registering your work with the CIPO ]. Now you acknowledge that copyright is automatic and that the registration is merely a help in case a copyright dispute should arise. So you acknowledge that your earlier statement was factually wrong.

Frankly, from the snippets I've seen of the book I can't imagine anyone even considering for a second to infringe your copyright. :rolleyes:

Everybody is subject to the rebirth cycles. In my study I have a chapter examining the past lives of a group of mentally handicapped children.

Other not historically famous people in my study are a surgical nurse during WWII, an immigrant from Thailand, Joseph and Mary's other five children, most of whom happen to be alive today, among many others.
Who are these five? Let us consider Matthew 13:55, 56.
Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all his sisters with us? ...
So, apart from Jesus there are four brothers, and the "all" would suggest in English, three or more sisters. But let us assume "all" translates a possible Greek dual form: then at least two sisters. Thus Jesus had at least six siblings, and perhaps more.

A couple of questions for you. What happened to the other one or more over and above your "five"? Those who are not "alive today": are they dead? If not, where are they, and in what form do they exist?

It does look a bit odd. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Which in this case I don't think we have enough of.

Hard to disagree with that - we don't have any evidence at all, just claims. I'm very much looking forward to some evidence being presented, so that we have a meaningful discussion.

Kathie, you're going about this all wrong. Regardless of how accurate your assertions may be, you will gain a much greater audience by presenting them as fiction and crafting some quality prose with a strong plot arc.

For instance, look what I managed to stuff into My book The Passion of Marty-Sue (currently in 2nd draft), which is in the genre of science fiction/fantasy humour:
  • Refugees from the M42 nebula;
  • Marduk and Tiamat;
  • Thor, Sif, their three kids Modi, Magni and Thrud, and Loki (plus a cameo from Oðinn on the telephone);
  • A 17th century Jesuit priest;
  • Warrior cats from the Pleiades;
  • 2 skateboarding penguins;
  • And a tiny, Duke Nukem-quoting dragon called Aunt Tata.
Some of My novel may even be true, but I'm not going to let that get in the way of telling a good story.

Smart way to advertise, but no thanks.

I have identified Joseph and Mary's children as Jesus, James the Younger, Hanna, Veronica, Jacob and Miriam, with the last two being the youngest.
In the 20th century James the Younger was born a male in Europe studied engineering; Hanna was born in Europe as a male studied art; Veronica born in Europe as a female studied medicine, Jacob born in Canada as a male studied engineering; Miriam was born in Canada as a female, a school dropout.
Joseph himself also lived in the 20th c. in Canada, studied engineering.
Although none of them atheist, none of them stayed close to the any church.

Hi Kathie.

Now that you're back, do you have any interest in answering my questions? I quoted them for you, in case you missed them earlier.
