The Truth about RFK Jr

More in the RFK Jr category than Trump. Musk may be involved.
Science magazine this week reported the latest development in a growing pattern of political disruption to American science: the National Science Foundation is eliminating all 37 of its research divisions, restructuring its grant-making process, laying off staff and canceling over $1 billion in already-awarded grants. The changes follow the resignation of Director Sethuraman Panchanathan and coincide with a proposed 55% cut to the agency’s budget.
This is not reform. It is a dismantling.

As soon as this evening, NSF is also expected to send layoff notices to an unspecified number of its 1700-member staff. The remaining staff and programs will be assigned to one of the eight, smaller directorates. Staff will receive a memo on Friday “with details to be finalized by the end of the fiscal year,” sources tell Science. The agency is also expected to issue another round of notices tomorrow terminating grants that have already been awarded, sources say. In the past 3 weeks, the agency has pulled the plug on almost 1400 grants worth more than $1 billion.

Forbes wrote, "Jeff Masters, former hurricane scientist with NOAA and co-founder of the popular weather reporting service Weather Underground, wrote on the social media platform Bluesky, “This isn’t about merit or budgets because NSF has a tiny imprint on the federal budget. This is all about controlling information and knowledge.”...We also need to be clear about the costs of disinvestment. The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas — hardly a partisan institution — finds that nondefense government R&D yields long-run economic returns of 150% to 300% and accounts for roughly a quarter of American productivity growth since World War II. The authors, economists Andrew Fieldhouse and Karel Mertens, conclude bluntly: “Our findings therefore point to a misallocation of public capital, and substantial underinvestment in nondefense R&D.”"

On May 1st Dan Garisto of Nature reported, "Cuts to NSF spending this year could be a prelude to a drastically reduced budget next year. Science has reported that US President Donald Trump will request a $4-billion budget for the agency in fiscal year 2026, a 55% reduction from what Congress appropriated for 2025. Similarly, according to documents leaked to the media, the proposed 2026 budget request for the National Institutes of Health calls for a 44% cut to the agency’s budget, which was $47 billion in 2025...A report last month by economists at American University in Washington DC estimates that a 50% reduction in federal science funding would reduce the US gross domestic product by approximately 7.6%.1"

I'm sure they can find ways to cover that up.

My prediction is that the next grant to be cancelled is one in which the grantee is working on a cure for narcolepsy.

We're so ◊◊◊◊◊◊.
This nonsense about babies being challenged with too many antigens is just so stupid. The baby is born out of a sterile environment then gets pushed through a usually ◊◊◊◊ stained vagina, thrust on to a non-sterile breast. Its immune system has to deal with millions of novel microbes each expressing thousands of antigens.

Modern vaccines are often highly purified single proteins, as opposed to old inactivated whole organism vaccines. Live vaccines will contain multiple antigens, just as the real organism does.

From Kathleen Seidel at Science Based Medicine: "Mark Geier began to engage in the unlicensed practice of pharmacy almost immediately upon his relocation to the state in December 2011...David Geier’s qualifications for operating any sort of pharmacy are nonexistent."

NPR reported, "Trump celebrated the widespread firings of government workers on April 29, at a rally marking his first hundred days in office. "We are stopping their gravy train, ending their power trip, and telling thousands of corrupt, incompetent and unnecessary deep state bureaucrats, you're fired. Get the hell out of here," he said..."It's a five-alarm fire," says Dr. Anne Schuchat, a former acting director at CDC who retired in 2021 after working at the agency for 33 years. "The kinds of changes that are happening are going to take decades to recover from, and many people will die because of these interruptions.""

I am not an expert regarding the manufacture of vaccines, but I found this passage at the Children's Hospital helpful: "Even though fetal cells are used to grow vaccine viruses, vaccines do not contain these cells or pieces of DNA that are recognizable as human DNA...During this process of purification, any remaining cellular DNA is also broken down."

This passage address another issue: "Religious leaders from the major religions, including Catholicism, have evaluated the use of these cells in making vaccines and determined that it is not sinful to accept vaccines made in this manner."

American scientists really need to consider the deteriorating freedom of their nation and employment prospects versus the idea of continuing their research in a supportive environment in another country. Their efforts to support the US people are already being strangled and actively stopped. The only outcome if they stay and fight is potential detention or even deportation anyway, with loss of their research. Their great work needs to continue where it can be allowed flourish, and that is no longer in the USA.

RFK Jr talking about the need for doctors to know how to treat measles for those who are unvaccinated.

“Only very sick kids should die from measles.”

No. They shouldn’t. That was the point of the vaccine. We eradicated the virus so children didn’t die.

Sick & disabled kids are not expendable!

Clear and present danger.

This stupid mother ◊◊◊◊◊◊ ignores the lifelong disabilites and conditions measles sometimes cause. It was ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ eradicated here, but willful ignorance brought it back.

I hate these people.

From a brief interview with Dr. Bhattacharya at Science

"On NIH's cancellation of more than 800 grants, many on HIV research:
“They’re canceled because they’re DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion]-based science … [which does] not actually have anything to do with promoting the health of the American people. I’m not sure why you’re switching to HIV.”"

"On a Nature news article reporting that NIH planned to suspend subawards for foreign collaborations:

“No, that’s false. There’s going to be a policy on tracking subawards. The NIH and the government should be able to see where the money’s going.” “I’m really uncomfortable with this conversation, because you’re like, actually spreading rumors that you don’t know anything about. … Nature also is spreading rumors. Halt foreign collaborations, that’s not true.” “We’re working on the policy, Jocelyn. You shouldn’t be reporting rumors. I know there’s leaks all over here, but the leaks don’t actually reflect what’s happening. Don’t write about rumors. It actually makes the things that you and I care about worse. Like it spreads panic.” Later that day, NIH released a policy that halted future subawards to foreign scientists and said they will need to apply directly for money under a system still in development."

Late last March CNN reported, "At the end of last week, Dr. Colleen Kelley said she was getting texts about every 10 minutes from colleagues whose HIV-related research grants were being terminated by the federal government. “This is just pure chaos and insanity,” said Kelley, chair of the HIV Medicine Association. The National Institutes of Health canceled two grants last week for HIV projects she was working on, as well as funding for a large HIV clinical trial network she was involved with...The emails received by Dr. Aniruddha Hazra and other colleagues studying HIV come in “two different flavors,” he said: “one that was more for those grants that were exploring diversity, equity, inclusion in medicine, and then another that was again looking at LGBTQ populations, as well,” said Hazra, an associate professor of medicine at the University of Chicago and director of the STI Services for Chicago Center of HIV Elimination."
