I'm pretty sure we're discouraged here from explaining magic tricks, but if I had to guess, it's a combination of the "light as a feather, stiff as a board" chestnut with careful camera angles that hide more than they reveal, bystanders who are in on the gag and a decidedly non-paranormal form of support.

It's pretty straightforward how it's done. Did you see him draw that pentagram in the circle right at the beginning? Obviously, he's invoking supernatural powers, of which telekinesis is but one of many. Here is the evidence we've all been seeking.

That one is easy to answer. Just look at the date it was posted - 2005. That would have been the normal quality back then.

Probably it's an activity dominated by men mainly because many moves involve considerable upper body strength.

Funny, we used to do that in Girl Scouts in the 1960s - complete with the "light as a feather, stiff as a board" chant! I seem to recall we had no problem lifting each other with out fingers...

I can understand not wanting to reveal real magic tricks, but the "portable chair" trick is a party trick not a magic trick. We used the same at school and party when we were teenager.

I thought a couple of the bystanders that did the initial lift had unrealistically exaggerated reactions to the removal of support from around the girl...

In the aquarium video, the tank is clearly a plant, but I don't how the trick was done - assuming the video is all shot just as it appeared to happen.

Well we certainly need to zoom in on those faces rather than look underneath the person supposedly levitating to see what is holding them up.

You're kidding right? James Randi actually became famous for his work revealing and exposing just how so called "magic" is performed. How ridiculous (hypocritical even) would it be for him to create a website where such practices were not allowed.

Where exactly did you read that? "We're not allowed to reveal how magic is done on this board." Unless maybe this was meant as a joke?
