zero point field and unexplained phenomena?

Till I would hate to present a false picture or offer inaccurate analysis of this phenomenon because of the epistemological breakdown in my mind....

That was trite and undeserved

Wasnt meant to be trite at all - I should have used a smiley, sorry.

I just thought your point 4 (suitably adapted) was a pretty good description of the fear I have when proferring opinions on QM -- although my breakdown is more along the lines of not even being sure what I want from ontological underpinnings.

Pardon , pardon ...Thought you were being satirical at my expence:)

Edit to add:
Do have a question for you tho. Do you have to self-censor because of your employment?

Not really. I certainly wouldn't mention any new results on here until I had at least presented them at a conference. When I was at Bell Labs there was an internal document review system, and you had to wait a few days before your document was "released" into the wild. Once or twice some patent lawyer tried to get me to write a patent for some idea or another - but realistically the small amount of potentially useful stuff I do is not going to actually be useful until long after any patents expire (and the money you get for writing them aint worth the time)...
