Yet another solution to the Pirate Problem

How about forcing them into homosexual marriages? Think that would do the trick?

What I don't get is why the pirates keep going after cruise ships. Sure there is the potential for a massive payoff but against that they keep a decent lookout have a much higher insentive to avoid capture and for the most part have a reasonable turn of speed (can't match liners but still not too bad). Throw in the fact that so far they've all managed to escape and you have to feel that going after other targets is more rewarding.

The Pirates should stear clear of cruise ships as they are bound to lose thier ransom money in the ships casino..

Besides that what in the name of holy jeebus are these security guards doing with handguns???? I'd have thought rifles more appropriate...

Hmm maybe they weren't israeli sicurity guards by they were paying pirates. Oo See this way they reduce their risks and increase their profit margins!
By the way I’m making a joke but I so hope it’s true because that would be really funny.

I imagine these "security guards" were not specifically meant as anti-pirate forces. What with the handguns locked in a safe and under the control of both the security chief and the captain...
They probably function as any security guard would on such a vessel.

Simple step up give such people access to more serious weaponry. Besides, it would provide amusing entertainment for the passengers....

Any armed security is a first good step to take. Now that other shipping companies see that an armed (not just guns) crew can make the difference, we might see fewer boarding attempts as more pirates are driven away.

Now it's being reported that some passengers initially spoiled the boarding by hurling tables and chairs at the pirates.
Maybe if we just armed all the passengers with furniture....

As I recall, the last time I shot a shotgun, It was on a cruise ship, therefore there are at least plenty of them available, with crewmembers trained in their use.

How about Hunting cruises? Lots of game hunters go to africa to bag wild animals. I'm sure there would be a lot of people who would pay to be setup on top of a cruise ship in blinds blowing pirate calls.

Something tells me these pirates aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the room. I mean, in 2006 the idiots tried to take on two US warships - a destroyer and a cruiser.
