The guy wasn't even very good at takedowns.

The larger guy was a BJJ blue and the smaller one a strong BJJ white, both from Perth where standards (in terms of the relationship between skill and belt rank) are very high.

They commented afterwards on rec.martial-arts that it's not easy to take down a big guy on soft sand. If you haven't tried it yourself I wouldn't disparage their efforts.
 
I have tried it myself, it's not that hard. Then again, BJJ isn't really known for it's takedowns.
 
I don't think I could perform a good single leg after running whilst screaming at the top of my lungs at a fat guy also screaming at the top of his lungs who is busy trying to knock me down with his chi... i'd be too busy laughing in my head.

Especially with a friendly little dog running around yipping the whole time. Totally silly situation to even attempt to evalutate someone's skill.
