World War Three Coming Soon?

In '03, we had a president itching to invade Iraq, Hussien was defying the UN order for inspections, and we were still pissed about 9/11.

in '10, we have a President that has shown no inclination for invading Iran, a US population more worried about the flushed economy, a military that is stretched too thin with leaders that don't want to invade Iran

And just out of curiosity, who would be rushing to Iran's side to created the multiple fronts of other continents to make it a World War?
 
IIRC, Europe's much more concerned that Iran gets nukes than the US is, and the US is definitely concerned.
 
One would think Jihad Jane would LOVE WW3 to happen. It would destory modern industrial society, which it pretty apparent by now she Hates, and force us back into a semi Medieval, everybody grows their own food society, which is what she apparenly wants.

It's unlikely that anyone is going to rush, but China and Russia are unlikely to sit back and let the USA own Iran.

The signs are that the idiot US/Israeli fruitcake is more serious about bombing Iran than ever. Violence is the only option the US has to shore up its crumbling, imperial dominance.

Well, at least we don't have John "Bomb Bomb Iran" McCain in charge. I hope that if anyone ends up bombing Iran, it isn't us for a change. It's not as if we're the only nation with fighters and bombers. Besides, I'm convinced the time to react to Iran having nukes is after they use one. That might be horrible of me, but I think it's a damned sight less horrible going around acting as if the US and it's official allies are the only nations qualified to have them and assuming anyone else intends to destroy their neighbors.

So they will commit their own military forces and stretch out the theater rather than just cut a deal with the US? China and Russia would actually unite?

Who are you referring to? What makes you think the US has made any more strides to bombing Iran? Obama has stepped back to let the current politcal discourse sort itself out, if anything.

China and Russia have already united, having recognized that the US threat to their interests requires a cooperative response. They have staged joint war games.

Yeah, I understand that we've been dictating what other countries can and can't do for so long that questioning it sounds dumb. And I understand that we've tried and failed to establish any level of trust with a lot of nations by going back on our word and refusing to trust them for so long, it seems like utter lunacy to try something new. But maybe allowing nations to develop on their own and only punishing them when they've done something wrong is just crazy enough to work.
