Why Do Environmental Activists Continue...

Measures needed to reduce the human contribution to global warming, a contribution whose existence seems to be debatable, appear to be the same ones needed to clean up our air, the deterioration of which isn't so much in question. Those measures are, of course, centered on converting from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources -- a step that significantly would also reduce U.S. dependence on enemy nations for its fuel. So rather than haggling over the warming, let's figure out how to get this country interested in converting to renewable energy.

I know no-one will believe me when I say I agree with a lot of this.

Global warming (or climate change is real) - no doubt.
Fossil fuels cause pollution - no doubt.
Fossil fuels will run out - inevitable

I think a productive and more readily achieved vision might be:
Rather than the AGW world using; alarmist rhetoric and the catastrophic consequential predictions if immediate action isn't taken. Replace it with more reasoned considerations as to how to assist the developing world with climate change at the same time as and including developing and implementing renewable energy, solutions would follow a lot faster.

I hope that makes some sense, the paragraph seems cumbersome and I've had a long day.
