Although I do have to admit that for someone who alleges to be non-gay, Toby has a remarkably suppressed gag reflex.
Seriously! You jerks. I was SURE I was going to get a threesome out of you two. The mere thought is going to fuel my fantasies for at least the next, oh, 18 months or so.
Come on, we look so good together! I'll keep the hat on!

Yup - I'll take a raincheck on that!![]()
I friggin tried to hook you two up, but wasn't fast enough. You two are pretty hard to pin down.
I'll buy a round at TAM 6 too.
Sure you can. Unfortunately, you're not in on the joke, and that it is anything but hateful. Sadly, thats how inside jokes work.
So far as the presenters go, I can only think of the SciAM editor, and the funny part was how the person who wrote him added "gay" as an insult at the end. The insult itself was lame, but the context was funny.
Failing that, well... we can't convince you, but we KNOW its not a negative thing.
And I wish Tobias was gay.I just wish people were as aware of how these things affect many of us who are gay...or that you cared.
Well yeah, that as well, obviously. To make me jealous.
Only if you wear the sunglasses as well.Seriously! You jerks. I was SURE I was going to get a threesome out of you two. The mere thought is going to fuel my fantasies for at least the next, oh, 18 months or so.

I'm not gay, but Athon is just so damned sexy! And Tobias, and Marquis, and Badger, and.... Umm, er.Okay, I didn't have a ton of time but I wanted to whip up a nice visual aid to help anyone who didn't understand this whole "gay or not gay" thing. Here's a quickie Venn diagram that I hope might clear up any misunderstandings:
With all due respect, how you "mean" something isn't really the way one determines whether a phrase or comment is insulting, offensive, or homophobic. You're using the accusation of someone being gay as a joke; that, in itself, is insensitive. And I'd expect more from a group of enlightened critical thinkers such as yourselves.
Would you all be so cavalier about accusing him of being Black? I bet not. I just wish people were as aware of how these things affect many of us who are gay...or that you cared.

As one of the major contributors to the cork board repartee (yes Toby, I am your secret admirer...) and as a gay male travelling with my husband in tow... there is nothing to be offended about. Its a long-running gag (pardon the pun) and it was good-natured.

-SA (AH).
I'm NOT bald.
Actually he flirts with everyone, regardless of their sex or sexuality.
Speaking of, when are we going to get those romantic pictures of Tobias begging me to run off with him to Denmark?
