What is truth, if not contingent upon the fact that some-thing exists?

Iacchus does philosophy.
See Iacchus do philosophy.
Philosophise Iacchus, philosophise.

Yes, I've just enjoyed a glass or three of a good Oz Shiraz, and that's the truth!

What?

ASA, I've just recently discovered Shiraz, what winery do you recommend?

There are many but, if you happen to be in a bottle shop somewhere, you probably won't go wrong with Penfolds or Wolf Blass.

The stuff I'm enjoying right now comes in a 4 litre cask, (yes, the old chateau cardboard), and is made by Morris, a Victorian winemaker. It's probably not going to win any major awards but it's a great buy for the barby at only $17.

--Dias domnas! Dolled to dolthood? And Annie Delittle, his daintree diva, in delitic dwilights, singing him henpecked rusish through the bars? My Wolossay's wild as the Crasnian Sea! Grabashag, groogy, scoop and I'll cure ye! Mother of emeralds, ara poog neighbours!

Hrm...thinking about it, the previous post really SHOULD have been saved for a particularly discombulated Kumar post...oh, well, I can just link it.

Q: Why is kmortis' Joycian response to Iacchosophy like a sadistic Ailurophobe?

A: It beats the hell out of kittens.

Hrm...are they only avalible in Oz? I live in NY and we get some Oz wines (I happen to have a very fine bottle of Yellow Tail Merlot that I should be quaffing right now), but those names don't sound familiar...but I could have just overlooked them, n'est pas?

Yellow Tail is kangaroo piss. I used to like Rosemont, but it's gone downhill lately. Come, ASA, give us the goods from an authentic boomer. Any other recommendations besides Penfolds & Wolf Blass?

Thank you...I think

It all started this eve. Whilst Mama Mortis and the lil' Demons were making the popcorn and cranberry garland, I picked up FW for an evening repast. I got about 10 pages into it before 2 things occured:
1) I realized my mistake in trying to follow a plot. So, I napped.
2) I recognized the lunacy that Joyce was putting forth and figured that it was a perfect riposte to Iacchyosophy, to use a Tricky-ism.

Yes, there is every bit of truth in nonsense too.

What is truth, if not contingent upon the fact that some-thing exists?

Truth is a yes-or-no proposition, according to one philosophizer.

It's strictly a matter digital logic which, of course is the basis for all logic. It either amounts to "1," meaning it does exist, or it amounts to "0," meaning it doesn't exist. This, in fact is the basis for all truth.

You asked to repost the question on this thread so I will.

Is killing another living thing bad? According to you, this truth can be answered yes or no. I would ask that your answer be one of those two choices that you indicate are the only answers to truth. Any misdirection, refusal to answer, or conditional answers will be regarded as an admission that it was a blindingly stupid thing to say.

A quick one to remind that I always have the book at hand. Especially since it's available online....

So, you were asked if killing a living creature is morally wrong? Yes or no?

You are asking me to use my brain at this delicate time! :(

There are a number of makers that produce quality wine but it's difficult to know which ones might be exported to your side of the planet.

I will have a look in the bottle shop tomorrow and report back with some suggestions.

Should you see any examples over your way run them past me and perhaps I can give you some advice as to ther possible quality.

I know that a number of top makers here produce wine specifically for the American market and give them names that are likely to appeal over there. A friend of mine is VERY knowledgable in this area so I can run any questions you might have past him.

For me, just a decent Shiraz. I'm lucky enough to live in a decent wine area, so I have a ton of local wineries around, but none make a Shiraz. I prefer the darker, dryer wines....gamnit, I was gonna head off to bed, now I'm gonna have that glass.

Well, this should make my Joycing activities even more entertaining ;)

Shiraz, although originating in some strange place like Iran or somewhere similar, is a peculiarly Australian wine specialty. I'm not sure why this is. It makes an excellent drop for washing down the animal parts consumed at any barby.

I'm sure Joyce would have liked it, in fact I suspect he may have been consuming a fair amount of it while considering Finnegan!
