What applications, games and other such software packages are you most looking forward to? Which of your favourite apps is about to get a welcome update?

Being a Mac user, the programs I'm keenest on are:

• Mac OSX: Leopard
We'll have to wait until June for its super secret features to be revealed, and then until October for the release, but hey, it'll be good...

• iLife 07
It missed MacWorld, and will probably be released to coincide with Leopard.

So what are you PC guys and gals most looking forward to? The forthcoming Vista service pack? IE8? Anything else?

the next edition of Microsoft Visual Studio, mostly. (It is a software development suite, not creative arts software. I always hated that name.)

Maybe some of the upcoming Microsoft Expression products won't be so bad. I'll have to check them out, though, before I decide.

Of course, the next version of whatever Adobe is doing is bound to be cool, perhaps. Especially now that the competition could heat up.

As far as games are concerned: Spore!!!!

C'mon guys - we all know Duke Nukem Forever will pwn all gamez that have gone before it! :D

Does anyone know if there are any new (or updated) Linux distros on the way?

Debian lenny 2008-2009
Fedora Rawhide May 24, 2007 maybe
Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon October 18th 2007 maybe
Gentoo 7.0 should turn up sometime this year.

Rhino 4.0 - 3D Nurbs modeling program (it's out now but I don't have it yet.)

MOTU Symphonic Instrument (orchestral multitrack sampler). Again, it's out now but awaiting $$$.

Does anyone know if QuarkXpress 8 is announced, or at least rumoured? I've seen a few websites mention it, but always in passing.
