Canada, eh?
Wasn't sure if I should put this under the 'computer' or 'general' forums, but since it involves viewing a scam with skepticism, I thought it would be best here.)

Lately, when I watch youtube videos, I seem to be getting a lot of "Tai Chi workout" ads.

I know the ads are some sort of scam. They are promising huge weight loss/muscle growth in an unrealistic amount of time and with minimal effort, using an exercise that doesn't involve a lot of weight-bearing exercises. But, what exactly is the scam here? How are they trying to "get your money"?

Are they trying to get you to sign up for some program at a significant cost? Download an app filled with spyware?

(I've done a few web searches but so far all I have found is stuff talking about WHY it looks fake, not what the underlying scam actually is.)

It appears they bait the customers with some trial courses for 9,99$/€ but the application form includes a hidden autorisation to debit your account for monthly fees sometimes as high as 99$/€ a month, that are very difficult to stop and even harder to recover.

Thanks. It makes sense that it was something like that. (Like I said, most of the debunking I found was about how dumb the claims were rather than how the scam worked.
