War versus Welfare

This is actually hard to quantify, because it could be argued that inadequate defense spending could lead to the entire country being defeated, and how do you put a price on that?

As a result, I am in favor of a strong US military, though I do wish that maybe just a few of those billions be spent on domestic items instead.

A house 50,000
a refridgerator 1,000

a life free from oppression priceless,

I am for a strong military, I just question the way we spend that money.

As well you should and you have every right to question. And government has a responsibility to provide you with an answer. I fear we won't like the answer. Let's try to get it anyway.
