I'll be arriving the 12th, I'm booked into some low class, tacky hotel, the Stardust. Leaving 18th. I'm available to do pretty much anything.

Funny. That´s the same place most of us are staying.

Coincidence?

Or divine intervention?

:)

Spooky or what? What's the odds of a group of people all deciding to go to the same hotel?

How's this for "synchronicity"?

About a week ago, I had planned for a meeting in Copenhagen with the Danish JREF'ers, that is, those that live near Copenhagen. However, I had also sent an invitation to a member, living in Odense. I thought that, with the good train connections and the Storebælts-bridge, there might be a chance he'd show up. The place would be The Shamrock, an Irish bar in central Copenhagen.

No, he emailed me back: Unfortunately, he had arranged another meeting with the Danish atheists, also in Copenhagen, the same day, an hour earlier, at the Old English Pub. He was sorry that it couldn't happen, but the meeting was already set up.

I immediately emailed him back (along with a comment on him being a country mouse who had no idea of what the Big City looked like!) with the stunning news: He had chosen a pub less than 50 meters from the one I had. I dragged the JREF'ers over to the Old English Pub, after promising them a paranormal phenomenon. It was fun!

But isn't this what we hear, when a case like this comes up? Isn't this "synchronicity"? What are the odds that two skeptics arrange two separate meetings, the same day, in the same city, less than 50 meters apart, within one hour?

Was it paranormal?

Nah. He chose the pub for the same reason I chose mine: Both are very central, and easy to find for out-of-towners. Both are very nice (Danes have a liking for English/Irish/Scottish-types of pubs), and the timing seemed reasonable: Saturday, at 13-14. The day? Not too close to Christmas, so the last Saturday of November made sense.

But I have no doubt that, had it been non-skeptics, it would have been hailed as yet another piece of evidence that the paranormal exists!

I'm arriving on the 11th, leaving the 18th. Unfortunately Im all by my lonesome so I'll have plenty of time to help out. I'm 22 in case theres any physical stuff that needs to be done. Let me know!
